General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from
Waukesha, Wis. , to Beijing . In addition to moving the headquarters, the
company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers.
This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year, but paid no taxes---the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the United States .
So let me get this straight, President Obama appointed GE Chairman of the Board Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (Job Czar).
Immelt is supposed to create jobs.
I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.
If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does.

So you are saying that by hiring someone into the fed., they should repay the favor by getting a private firm to do the gov.'s bidding? Wouldn't that be the same corruption that you guys say Obama is all about?
translation please
GE the Thomas Edison company who suppressed the technology of Nicholai Tesla.
Generally Evil
I quit buying GE products several years ago when they became inferior to other top brands. Everyone else needs to do the same.
GE didn't pay any taxes last year either.
Nationalize them. Companies that move out of the U.S. to create jobs for people in other countries should be HEAVILY fined/taxed/punished. We produce hardly ANYTHING anymore. These companies have moved jobs overseas for a couple of decades now (to lower costs). Have YOU seen reductions in costs? Take the American flag down from their headquarters. Fly the pirates emblem, instead.
imclain, the idiot, stop listening to the bs talking points. The US remains the world's #1 manufacturer.
we boycotted ge many years ago...inferior products, esp. light bulbs...
5:30...at least be a man when you call me names...but, can you please give me the names of the companies who make TV's in the U.S? Or maybe some world class steel producers in the U.S.? Most of the furniture sold in the U.S is MANUFACTURED overseas, in China, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. Companies are (and have been) moving their manufacturing plants OUT of the U.S. for years (thats NOT a "talking point" ---it's a fact). Ask someone who knows, what has NAFTA done for the U.S.? Manufacturing widgets and trinkets will not keep us #1 for much longer. So, don't get your panties all wound up, little girl...obama needs your vote again.
