Brother, Can You Spare A Dime

Once again, since the Mayor is so blind, perhaps he'd like to take a stroll down the Plaza and see the homeless hanging out even during the day.

When I confronted them they held out a copy of the Constitution and informed me that they had every right to be there and there wasn't a thing I could do about it.

I didn't want to give them any money because I didn't want to get charged with soliciting a prostitute. God Forbid.

let me guess come winter time they get locked up for theft

What constitutional right? Free assembly?

Enforcement of loitering and public nuisance ordinances can move them along. No ordinances? Write them.

Or just remove the tables and chairs.

I wish Salisbury was more like Berlin or Easton. PLEASE fully reopen Main Street to traffic both ways; and add parking for vehicles on one entire side of the street. Donate the benches, plants, trees planters, etc. to Salvation Army or some other worthy charity.

What is wrong with homeless people sitting down in a public place? Were they bothering anyone?

I guess some of you missed the point from my Post yesterday.

You see, the Mayor claims there are no homeless people on the Plaza and this Posts is just tongue and cheek, so to speak.

Every American certainly has the right to be there, IF they're shopping and not hitting people up for money.

Its their constitutional right, right Jim? Screw the taxpayers, you already collected their money for the year, right Jim.

Move there. Main street in the plaza is not that wide for all that of which you request, and do it safely.

And there really isn't a need.

Perhaps these vagrants need a carpet party since the cops won't do anything

But in the winter the mayor had the police run them out of a hole they were living in and impounded all their posessions, coats, blankets. Mayor Simpleton

Can you say two face, much?

Carpet party? You mean redneck justice? I'm all for it if the law won't do something about it. I'd make it clear they aren't welcome here and they'd have to be crazy to stay here after I got done with them. Perfect weather for a nice mass waterboarding.

They can probably use a bath anyway.

7:07, who appointed you judge and jury to do a clean sweep of downtown? They are as welcome as you are to sit wherever they want. They do not have to go anywhere as long as they are not committing a crime. You may not not their looks or personal hygiene("They can probably use a bath anyway"), but are they bothering you? Where would you have them go?
