New Defense Secretary Warns Of Doomsday
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta used his first news conference to warn of doomsday if DoD budget cutting goes too far. Panetta told reporters, the military could handle the initial $350 billion worth of cuts called for in this week's debt-ceiling agreement. But that agreement could take another $500 billion dollars from DoD over the next ten years, which Panetta called "completely unacceptable" and dangerous to national security. He said Congress should also consider tax hikes and reductions in entitlement spending to ease the fiscal crisis.

That's a drop in the bucket for the military. They pay almost that much for a few boxes of bullets. Good ole government decisions.

DoD is the LAST place we need to make cuts. Well, at least close to the last place. Why not make cuts in welfare, maybe our unemployment rate will go down since people will be forced to find work.. Wishful thinking, right?
Amen! If you do collect welfare, do some public service in return. It should be mandatory. Sure, you can't help it if you're wo a job, but you can help collecting money for doing nothing in return. Hey, an idea, be a VOLUNTEER.
