Victims of childhood sexual abuse and the Catholic religious order of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales have reached a $23.6 million settlement after seven years of legal proceedings, attorneys said Thursday.
The settlement involves 39 cases in Delaware Superior Court against the Oblate-run Salesianum School in Wilmington, the Delaware-Pennsylvania Province of the Oblates, 220 priests and the worldwide Oblate organization that is composed of another 220 priests throughout the world, attorneys with the Neuberger Law Firm in Wilmington said.

Let's all hope and pray that the Catholic Church will eventually allow heterosexual Priests to serve.
11:36, I know that you're trying to be a little tongue-in-cheek, but the facts are that, while the percentage of homosexuals in the priesthood is much higher than that of the general population, the majority of priests are straight. The estimate of gay priests is somewhere around 40%, while that of the populaion as a whole is 5% or a little lower.
I'm pretty sure the Priests are supposed to be celibate. Celibacy is not heterosexual. Celibacy means a person does not engage in sexual behaviors at all. Not to be ridiculous but "spilling one's seed upon the ground" is also ill-advised in the Catholic Church.

it is surprising it has been tolerated for so long
this is not a modern problem it has gone on all along but people obeyed blinded by their faith and devotion
