Buffett of all people should know that this was inevitable. We are deserving of this downgrade, and crying like a baby to every news agency is pathetic. Suck it up and take this like a professional. What I find most amusing is that the rest of the world is not surprised by this downgrade. It is as though every one saw this coming but our own government.

Ok Joe. This is what we were talking about the other night. Common sense....or lack of it. It is abovious to everyone with common sense that the "debt deal" was nothing more than lip service. A joke by anyones standards. S&P reduces the AAA credit rating and now the Obama administration fires up the spin cycle. They are claiming the S&P, a leading financial institution, has made a math error that led to this "undeserved" credit rating downgrade. A 2 TRILLION DOLLAR MATH ERROR!!! What will this government expect us to believe next? That day is really night?

Can't everyone else see that this debt deal fell short of what was necessary to put this nation on firm financial footing? Even if it were 4 trillion over 10 years.....we now borrow 1.6 trillion in ONE year. We would have just been borrowing less but still going in a hole. Again, common sense. I strongly suspect that the Whitehouse will now attempt to discredit S&P and the way the do their daily business. That's the way they handle things. You either agree with the president or you are the enemy and subject to all the slander they can muster. This president has disgraced this nation more than any in history. If he stays in office we are doomed as a soveriegn nation.

The S & P told congress and Obama what the threshold was and they failed us. If you ran your house hold like they run our country what would your credit rating be? AA ? I'm surprised it's still that high.

The only thing I'd like to point out here, is the overspending didn't start with this administration. Let's not lose sight of that. I'm not defending them by any stretch. However, I know better than to think they should shoulder all the responsibilty or that the answer to all our problems is a different political party in the Whitehouse.
