Surprise! Surprise! Teachers’ Union Endorses Obama

Let’s see …

It’s 17 months until the next Presidential election.  Not all of the candidates have even announced yet.  We don’t know who will be the Republican nominee.

But …

The National Education Association – the nation’s largest teachers’ union – has endorsed Barack Obama for President in 2012!

Was there ever any doubt that the NEA is nothing more than a Democrat Party auxiliary?

But don’t forget …

IT’s FOR THE CHILDREN!

As surely as the sun rises in the East, the NEA will endorse Obama, despite there being no Republican nominee. When the Md. Teachers magazine comes out with endorsements for State senators and legislators, the list is always at least 95% Democratic.

I wouldn't endorse Obama for Cub Scout Pack Leader.

It is no surprise, but the timing of the announcement is poor. More than likely, the GOP nominee will be anti-union, or at the very least unappealing to most unions. This announcement seems to come far too early in the process though, and does not help thier PR.

However, will the editorial staff at SBYNEWS chastize the NRA when (once again) they support the Republican nominee, as they always, always do? One reason the NRA has not endorsed a presidential candidate is because the GOP has not had thier convention yet, so they seem to have a better sense of timing than the NEA, but their motives and allegences are just as obvious.

Teachers beware! Look what just happened to MD's State Employees. Their Union got too powerful and they raised mandatory payments by all employees. Now they all have Union representation and take home less pay.
