STOP THE VIOLENCE Kick off Event – Thursday July 7th

Making the community a safer place to live and play is the goal of a new organization, Stop The Violence in Wicomico County. A kick off party is happening Thursday July 7th from 6 til 8pm at the Calloway Street Gym in Salisbury. Information, refreshments, games for kids and arts and crafts activities are offered. Interested persons should attend and more information can be obtained by calling 410-543-4813.

Making the community a safer place to live and play is the goal of an area organization, “Stop the Violence in Wicomico County”. And the public is invited to attend the official kick off party Thursday July 7 from 6:00 til 8:00 pm at the Calloway Street Gym in Salisbury.

Meet people who are working to make the county a safer place to live. Members of Stop The Violence of Wicomico County will be offering information and brochures about their vision. They will also be meeting with youth and families to talk about plans for the future. There will be refreshments and activities, games like , arts and crafts.

Stop the Violence in Wicomico County consists of a group of concerned citizens who formed a not-for-profit corporation whose goals are to offer a safe haven and alternative activities that reach out to youth most vulnerable to adopting a life of violence or becoming a victim of it.

STV intends to open a multi-purpose facility with athletic fields, a gymnasium and classrooms along with satellite locations offering a variety of activities throughout our community. They also plan to join Boys and Girls Club of America. The B’s and G’s Clubs across the country – and locally here on Delmarva – are well known for their successes in helping turn youth away from criminal activities and toward becoming productive adults.
