Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On July 20, 2011 at approximately 1:05 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant received by Salisbury Detectives in 2009. In September of 2009, Salisbury Officers met with representatives of a local bank in reference to a female suspect forging and cashing a stolen check. The investigation of the incident resulted in the identification of the below listed suspect as the female that forged and cashed one stolen check and attempted to cash a second forged check. The suspect was arrested in Pennsylvania and was returned to Maryland for prosecution.

ARRESTED: Ashley Marie Barker, 24 years of age
Plymouth, Pennsylvania
CHARGES: Forgery-private documents (4 counts)
Issuing false documents (2 counts)
Theft (over $ 500)
Attempted theft

On July 20, 2011 at approximately 3:27 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Wicomico Co. Public Library for the report of a subject trespassing. Upon arrival the officers met with library staff who advised that the below listed suspect had returned to library property after receiving a trespassing notice on a previous date. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

On July 20, 2011 at approximately 6:50 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant obtained by Salisbury Officers for an incident that occurred in May of this year. On May 21, 2011, Officers of the Salisbury Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by the below listed suspect. During the traffic stop it was found that the suspect was driving on a suspended license and was in possession of a smoking device containing suspected "crack"/cocaine. The device was submitted to the Maryland State Police Laboratory who verified the substance in the smoking device.

On July 20, 2011 at approximately 8:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant charging the suspect with giving a false statement. In November of 2010, Salisbury Officers were involved in the investigation of a shoplifting at the Giant Food Store on South Salisbury Boulevard and interviewed the below listed suspect. During the interview, the suspect gave the officers false identification information.
