OCEAN CITY, MD – Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan traveled to Baltimore and Washington recently to connect with Ocean City visitors. The Mayor appeared live on WBAL-TV’s (NBC 11, Baltimore) popular Sunday Morning show on Sunday, July 10 and completed a media tour of Washington D.C., on Monday, July 11. The Mayor promoted Ocean City vacation deals and upcoming events such as The Dew Tour during his radio and TV interviews.
In Washington, D.C., the Mayor made three morning media appearances at WTOP-FM, WMAL-AM, and WRC-NBC 4. The trip marked the third media tour of 2011 and a first visit to the capital region this summer.
“More and more Washingtonians are making Ocean City their summer vacation destination of choice due to our town’s affordability and proximity,” Mayor Meehan said. “By visiting these regional TV and radio stations, we are able to remind folks that there is plenty of time to get to Ocean City this summer and experience all we have to offer.”
During the tour, the Mayor highlighted events such as the Dew Tour, Disney’s “Sizzlin Summer of Stars” concert series, other free family events and the Ocean City Free for All promotion. All media tours are organized by the town’s agency, MGH, and coordinated by Donna Abbott, Communications Manager for the Town of Ocean City.
