Taxpayers Lost $1.3 Billion In Chrysler Bailout

Yesterday I ran this article on the announcement of us taxpayers losing $1.3 billion in the Chrysler deal.

To my absolute amazement the article only brought in ONE comment.

Are we, (as Americans) becoming so complacent from being boned by our President and the Democrat Party that it's simply business as usual any more?

Between Fiat getting a strong percentage of our stock in Chrysler and the major shareholders also losing out financially, how can we simply sit here and watch wanna be politicians throw away our money and continue to vote for them.

That being said, do the Democrats realize just what they've done here with outside investors. I'm personally sick and tired of watching the Obama administration piss on America. Chrysler and GM should have folded from the beginning, period. You know it and everyone else knows it.

So for the sake of humor, do tell me how that Post only got one comment. Tell me why you remain silent, if you'd be so kind. Have you given up. Have Americans all become wussies lead around like puppets on a string?

Are You A Wussy?

Not complacent - just speechless beyond words. I was actually hoping for some return on my investment (no really - it WAS my tax dollars)but no such luck.

We live in Maryland Joe and unless these goobers wake up we are doomed to live in a government controlled society where those in power know best.

Oh Joe. We all know that anyone who might disagree with you would be a puppet, wussy, idiot or worse...

anonymous 11:01, So your saying you agree with Obama on this one?

Just didn't feel like commenting. Have enough bad news when I am trying to pay my bills. Trying to focus on positive things.

I don't think we're complacent, I think after several years of expressing our displeasure with this crap and no one is listening, what's the point. They are going to do what they want and there's nothing we can do about it. We can vote, but if we're not the majority again, we'll have 4 more years of this crap.

Well, we can play with numbers until the cows come home and make them say whatever we want. Here's a question for the masses. How much money will be taken in by the US Treasury in income taxes from the saved jobs at Chrysler? Billions? How much money would they collect if the company went belly up and all those auto workers started to collect unemployment? Minus millions? How about the companies retired workers. How much money would the government pay to them after they lost their retirement checks. Millions? So, how much did the tax payer really lose by helping Chrysler stay afloat? Well you take the numbers and figure it out. In my humble opinion, the government and taxpayers gained a lot more then they lost. Go figure.

I agree with Joe. We can't bury our heads in the sand and fail to stand up for what is right every single time the dimwits running this country make another bonehead move.

I think people feel like their hands are tied. Most of us have tried to change things and run into a brick wall. Maybe other are just waiting for the election so we can vote this bozo out of office.

When we have a Pres that appoints 32 zars who have to answer to no one, we have a serious problem. I believe we can stand Obama for this one term, can we handle the idiots who voted him in, and who will vote for him again. There lies our biggest problem we face. All working or retied people will have to rally behind one canidate in 012 to overcome the block votes of the blacks, illigals, walfare recipents, and most that hold a government job. With our debt so great now, how in the hell can we afford Obamacare. And we still give billions to rebuild mosques in Muslim countrys, and give them aid as well. America better wake up quick.

I did comment on this , at least I thought i did ,maybe I had a cuss word or 2.
When I see stuff like this I get pissed off and sometimes my response is not printed.
I'm a militant conservative with a military background. I read my comments almost every day when you print them.
I can say that I've never hated anyone , but , I have hated the things some people do. This could be changed with Obama , I'm beginning to hate him as a person.
Of course , the congress is second to be hated , they are pathetic.
In closing I will say this and I have also commented about this , Adolf Hitler once said "if you treat a man like a dog , in time he will act like one".
Someone will eventually bite this Obama guy!

I disagree. The Politicians do not throw away our money. They do not give away our money.

The Politicians do EXACTLY as they are told to do by the People for whom they work. They work for the People who finance their campaigns.

We no longer have a Constitutional Republic. We live under the rule of a Corporate Facist Police State. The Politicians have NO POWER. They work for the elite monied interests - who are international corporate owners.

We serve them.
Thank you

Many people, myself included, knew the nature of this tragedy at the onset. Let government have the slightest control of any industry and you know the result will be disaster. The Liberals don't have a clue as to what it takes to run a business much less a national economy. Tax and spend, tax and spend.

Joe,
Everyday there is something new from the Democrats on how they gave away the tax payers money. I'm done complaining and I'm just to wait at this point and cast my vote to get these idiots out of office.

People are not complacent, or bored. What they are is intimidated and resigned. Intimidated by an overbearing and pervasive thumb on their lives, taking everything possible and dreaming up new ways to "take" every day, backed up by an also pervasive police force, all too willing to enforce whatever the latest orders are to "protect" us from the generic "terror" we are cowering in fear from, mainly from propoganda initiated by wielders of the thumb. Resigned, because they are realizing that, regardless of the rhetoric of their chosen saviour (political candidate), it never changes, only gets worse, and they have no voice. Now, Napolitano says "domestic terror" is becoming a great threat. Look for a new round of laws and storm trooper tactics that will implemented to "protect" us, or keep us in control, depending upon your perspective. Change is coming...and they know it.

Its not that odd that you would call your patrons names. More disturbing is that all you see is the money, like in this bailout. The important point here is that for many many years now both parties have destroyed our Constitution line by line. 90% of the spending they do is plainly against the Constitution, yet with All the LEO's, States Attorneys and Military....NO ONE charges these treasonous crooks. For everyone voted out....another crook takes their place. My house stands ready as a faithful Patriot to take my Country back. As for commenting on your Post, a faithful supporter of yours for many years, even a sponsor, many times I also put links to youtube {like the cop mortality post}and such supporting my comments, they never see the light of day. Im tired of wasting my time participating only to have you or him censor my opinions and facts out. You spend far to much effort censoring others to appease a few.

As somebody who was a senior debt holder of GM, i've long since gotten over the illegal seizure of my money in bankruptcy court.

At the same time, losing $10k per job saved pisses me off, but that's much better than the government has done in the past. Should they have held the stock? Yes! But the average joe is not smart enough to get this, right?

Plus, you have so many stories now it's hard to have time to comment if you want to read them all.
