YES and on Monday also. We are always open. Our hours are printed on the door so we are open.
The roads are not really that bad..watch for slick spots.
YEP! Roads aren't that bad IF YOU TAKE YOUR TIME AND DRIVE CAREFULLY unlike some of the idiots out there! But it would have been nice to get the extra 2 hours of sleep that the BOE employees received.

I made it in today, since I work in my home office! But I missed work yesterday because I was out shoveling people out!
Yep and was here yesterday as well. You would think after last year everyone would be a little more used to the snow but obviously that's not the case!

Roads were great until I hit Salisbury. The entire downtown area (streets) hadn't been touched. At least the sidewalks were done, though! Luckily, the sun is out and melting the roads.
Yes, considering the snow we had. I think the county did a great job on the roads. My road was clear yesterday. Only bad spot was where the wind was blowing it across the road.

Anyone who thinks the county roads are in good shape is delusional! Try driving anywhere in the county around Parsonsburg,Pittsville,Willards and take your life in your own hands. Morris Rd in Pittsville and the surrounding area had never been plowed from the last snow! You few think the county is doing a good job while we're wondering what we pay taxes for!

City streets weren't all that bad. Looked to me like they put effort into the heavily traveled ones first, then did quick pass on the secondary ones. Even many of the residential streets I was on had one lane plowed.
I think they did a much better job this time, so I'll give credit where it's due. A foot of snow takes a lot of money and resources.
i agree 1:56 old ocean city rd was in real bad shape at 5 am on way back at 1:30 no better
Hey, 12:00, I'll be you make double what the BOE clerical staff makes...get over the BOE! Maybe you'd like to be stuck in a school office after school waiting for a parent to pick up a child with no pay? Or maybe you'd like to babysit the kids that get dropped off way too early in the morning because their mom "has to go to work"? You big mouth whiners have NO idea what BOE employees do for the public...they deserve the care they've been given during this snow storm. Personally, I commend the Board of Education for showing some concern for their employees. Get a life, 12:00.
Yep, yesterday too - and I live in BFE Pittsville! Everybody likes to make fun of lazy state employees on this blog but I had to be at work (on time) both days.

We have set hours as well, but between the thirty of us we support each other in weather conditions like this.

Didnt make it yesterday but did today. Yesterday tried to leave house at 5am... driveway was clear thanks to brother in law w/tractor, but made it about 10 feet on my street it Pittsville befor car bottomed out and was stuck!! Had wife help get car back in driveway and said hell with it!! They finally plowed a 1 way lane on my road about 4pm yesterday. And back roads are a mess.. work out in the Pocomoke forest area... some spots real bad this am and a bit better this afternoon but still have to drive SLOW!!
Once you get out of Wicomico County going north roads are fine. We made it to Atlanta leaving on Monday morning from Salisbury.

i love it! we're supposed to feel sorry for the BOE employees?? guess what, if your job is that bad then quit. Let someone else have your cushy, govt job.
Sounds like, for most of you, there was no need to go to work. If you can take time to read blogs and make comments, there must not be much work to do.
As an employer, I hope my group was doing the work they are paid to do, not goofing off on blogs. This is something I may have to check into. I read blogs on my time, not during working hours, even though I own a business.
5:25, if you were going to Atlanta, why were you driving north? If you were heading to DC to pick up 495, that is west. I seriously doubt that as soon as you passed the county line, the roads were fantastic.
I'm off anyway all this week, since I'm a teacher. Enjoying the easy life this week. Contrary to popular belief, we don't get paid for these days off. In fact we don't have any paid vacation time. Maybe we need to work that into the next contract.

Don't be so sure of that. My husband was going WEST on 50 this am. He said the roads were horrible even the bypass until he got past Vienna. Once he passed there the roads were clear all the way past the bay bridge.
4:37...I drive back from Baltimire during the storm....the snow was negligible west of Cambridge.So is stands to reason that the roads west of Vienna were in better shape
Vienna is at the Wicomico County line. So, you could say heading northwest the roads were clear once outside of Wicomico County.
