The first born has to try to succeed better than the rest because the younger one gets more attention because of other attributes. Therefore, the first born shoots for highers grades or greater acheivements to shine. They also get the hardest rules because as time goes on parent's become more lax on bedtime schedules and house rules. This makes the first born more intense and refined.

Not true in my family. I am the youngest of 8 yet the only one to attend and graduate from college. However my drop out brother, 4th born, was the first to start his own business. The oldest, now 44, is still an idiot with nothing more than his CD collection in order!
