REWARD OFFERED IN HIT AND RUN INVESTIGATION - UP TO $10,000 OFFERED

(Annapolis, MD) – A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the individual responsible for a hit and run that killed a highway worker in Annapolis on eastbound Rt. 50 at Bay Dale Drive on June 3, 2010.

Ghassen A. Sabra, 52, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, was working under contract with the Maryland State Highway Administration, when he was killed by an unknown vehicle. State police CRASH Team investigators believe he was in the roadway when he was struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, state police at the Glen Burnie Barracks were notified that a Queen Anne’s County ambulance returning to its base was on the scene of a traffic fatality on eastbound Rt. 50 at Bay Dale Drive. The ambulance crew had been a short distance behind a tractor trailer that struck the victim’s body lying in lane two of the highway. Emergency care was immediately provided, but he was deceased.

At this time, there is no description of the vehicle that initially struck Sabra. State police and allied law enforcement agencies do not have any leads or suspects. Anyone who was in the area of Route 50 and Bay Dale Drive between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, is urged to contact Maryland State Police at the Glen Burnie Barracks at 410-761-5130. Calls may be kept confidential. Persons providing information may be eligible for an award of up to $10,000, being offered by Sabra’s employer, Sabra, Wang, and Associates.
