I have been "trying" to keep up with the tug-of-war between SAPOA & the Mayor, but forgive me if I have missed something...I was under the impression (reading all the other articles on this issue) that the Mayor had zero interest in working at all with SAPOA. This letter makes it seem as if SAPOA has not been willing to meet with the Mayor? So which is it? Again, maybe I missed something, can someone clue me in?
SAPOA's lies are finally exposed. Sure, they want meetings - when and where THEY want them with THEIR rules in effect. Thanks to Mayor Ireton for exposing their hypocrisy.
And like he said... "SAPOA, police your own, and I won't have to."
3:48, It isn't just a tug of war between the Mayor & SAPOA. Now it's a tug of war between SAPOA's puppet Louise Smith & the Mayor.
SAPOA played games too. They were only willing to meet with the mayor if they could control how and where, like in secret at the conflict resolution place.
What struck me funny about this press release, wasn't Louise Smith bashing Debbie Campbell & Terry Cohen just last month in the newspaper for wanting one more public input meeting on the city's big 20-year land use plan? The meetings didn't get a lot of p.r. and they were supposed to be all about public input.
Queen Louise has appointed herself Grand Determiner of when public input is necessary and not necessary.
I watched today as a so called code enforcement officer from Neighborhood Services and Code Compliance did a ride by and then wrote up a neighbor for having weeds in the road next to the curb. That's right the weeds were in the street. Doesn't that street belong to the city? The lasy a$$ didn't even get out of the truck except to walk up to the front door to tape the notice on the door. I know exactly what the violation was because I went to the neighbors house and read it. This is what our city tax dollars are going to. This is what our city tax dollars are paying for an additional code enforcement officer. This is what our tax dollars are paying the code enforcement officers pay raises for.
Jim Ireton do yourself a favor and follow one of them around for a few days inconspicuously without them noticing you and you will see how lazy they are. Better yet follow the laziest one named Rusty Taylor. That guys is to lazy to get to work on time every day.
Shame this rock em sock em robot stuff doesn't break till Friday when no one's around.
Ireton irritates me but that old battle axe with the grating voice is worse. Not putting things on an agenda just because she doesn't like how Iretone does things is just plane irresponsible.
SAPOA is gearing up for another battle to keep their grip on Salisbury neighborhoods. One shot was fired across the bow on Monday night when Leer went after Campbell and Spies. Expect to see more of that...SAPOA will do anything to take the focus off of crime reduction and their role in neighborhood blight. That's right, if they drive the neighbors away, they can rent even more houses by the head with no regard when there are lawless occupants.
4:26 - The sentence to finish the first memo is on the very top of the second memo - above "City of Salisbury"
5:15 and 5:48 - it says to "click on images to enlarge" so click on the first memo (that will carry you to a new page) click on the imagine again and it should be much easier to read. After reading the memo just click "back arrow" (top left hand side - blue circle with white arrow) and that will take you back to Joe's blog where you can click on the second memo (twice) to read.
I'm so glad Mayor Ireton is standing up for himself and the work of the community. Now the communities need to get busy and engage the City Council - I know for fact that when the Council Chambers are packed by citizens the Council seems to be able to get their votes together and do the right thing vs support their special interests. We saw that last year with public support for Urban Salisbury. We need all of our Community Associations represented along with businesses and residents at these meetings. Please put your "time" where your words have been.

I'd like to know where the second page of the memo is. It cuts off in the middle of a sentence and doesn't pick back up.
I published everything that was sent to me.
Joe is it possible to make those images lager. It is kinda small and to difficult to read for some of us visually impaired. Thanks.
I know - it's that way on the city website and in the email with the press release.
Why bother?

Just have to click on the images to make them larger!
