Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On August 11, 2010 at approximately 3:52 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised that store employees had observed the below listed suspect take property from the store without making any attempt at payment. The property was recovered and returned to the store.

ARRESTED: Juvenile, 17 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Theft (under $100)
DISPOSITION: Released to guardian

On August 12, 2010 at approximately 10:24 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Giant Food Store on South Salisbury Boulevard for the report of a theft. Upon arrival the officers met with store management who advised that the below listed two (2) suspects had attempted to take food and other items from the store without making payment. The suspects attempted to utilize the self checkout counter and failed to register the bulk of their items for payment. The suspects were stopped and the items were returned to the store.

Pocomoke, Maryland
ARRESTED #2: Sharon Machelle Warrington, 42 years of age
Princess Anne, Maryland
CHARGES (both): Theft (under $ 1000)
Conspiracy to commit theft
DISPOSITION: Both released to Central Booking

On August 12, 2010 at approximately 11:00 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant charging the suspect with burglary. Detectives of the Salisbury Police received the warrant following the investigation of a burglary at St. Alban’s Church on July 4, 2010. Information regarding the suspect was received from the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation.

ARRESTED: Jeffery Bruce Serres, 33 years of age
Fruitland, Maryland
CHARGES: Second degree burglary
Fourth degree burglary
Malicious destruction of property
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

theft under 1,000 from Giant? Wow, so that means they stole food over 500. Did they fill up a basket and walk out? thats a lot of food
