Chris Powell, arrived in Afghanistan yesterday. This is his first deployment. He’s from Willards and is a 2008 Parkside High School graduate. He has lots of friends and family who miss him and is hoping for his safe return.

I am very honored to call Chris my friend. I grew up with him in high school and knew him as a kid. He is a hard worker and the true definition of a "gentle giant." I'm praying for you buddy, and I'll be sure to keep in touch.

I have known Chris since he was a wee lad. Saw his mama today. She is proud but very worried. Please stick a Post-It on your monitor with his name on it to remind you to pray for his safety everyday. God bless and keep you safe, Chris.

I feel that politicans who declare war should volunteer to fight. I hope everything is fine and wish him to come home safe.
