Because Wicomico County allegedly opted not to do their routine maintenance program this summer, the system failed and it may cost taxpayers more than (or around) $300,000.00 to replace.
Maybe the City should reconsider getting a REAL price for the old Fire Station 16 and help the County out with the bills on the building. Remember Folks, no matter what is said and done, City Taxpayers will be liable for 1/2 of this expense. The City nor the County can afford this bill.
Just how hot will it get in the GOB?

Don't worry----The heat won't last long----The Officials won't let it happen!!!
How big of a system is it?
$300,000 can buy a heck of a lot of air conditioning
Whats wrong with it that it can not be repaired?
Now that the Beatles and Rolling Stone magazine is directing our national strategy, how can we expect sanity at the local level.
Thank God for the November elections!
It has needed a new system for years.
It has needed a new A/C system for years. Both sides wanted to wait and tried to get the other to buy it.
$300,000.00 huh. ha,ha.
Thats got to be new everything.
Man that place is full of Hot Air wonder why it hasnt broken down before now. Ask why there is no inspection forms posted in the elavators anymore.
The people who go into business for themselves may fail, the one that dont already have. Think that sign screws with my lines?
Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?
Where's the PIO now? We employees have been suffering nearly 90 heat inside for two days with NOT ONE IOTA of information. Today they brought in Chicken House fans!!! What in the effing world are they doing with my money - your money - how dare they make over 100 people work in that kind of heat with absolutely no communication from the PIO, from the Mayor, from The County Executive, from no one!!
What the heck it's only tax payers money so it's free ...
I just cost out the air units , if you replace this system with window units the cost would be around $67,000. The electric bill would increase by about 2% in the summer. Maintenance would derease by $17,000 a year. No brainer!
Office sizes less than 5,000 btu in almost all offices.
Well I thought that the City and the County owned that building jointly...and the county takes up say 60% of the space, then they should pay 60% of the bill and the city should pay the rest. But 300,000 dollars to replace????Wow what are they going to replace everything?
