Joe,
You were so kind to post two articles I wrote about my father Harvey Hastings
being inducted into the Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame back on July 31, 2009 in
Knoxville, Tennesse. My father was born and raised here in Salisbury and
graduated from Wicomico High School so when this rare footage of one of his most
notorious fights came available I wanted to share this with everyone. Thanks
again.

Anon 9:50 you are correct. Harvey is in the dark outfit and took down the champion in this fight that actually took place in Ocean City, Maryland.
I knew the guy your Dad fault his name is Jack Dutcher and before this fight had never been knocked off his feet .
Wow, this is impressive. Rumor has it that Harvey Hasting was as tough and bad as they come. Did he use to own the harbor club in Mt. Vernon?
Yes dad owned the Harbor Club for years and I could certainly tell you some fruitful stories about those times.
Harvey Hastings was the only world champion ever , From the Eastern shore !
11:35 So sorry there is no world Karate Champion. So many tournaments in karate say world champion. Google it and see how many world champions there are in karate. I bet you find 200 in a few minutes. There is no governing body in karate to have a legit world champion. There is a world championship tournament every month somewhere. They just say that to promote their tournament. Also Master Trauer in Onley VA is a World Champion, Kurt Purnell of Selbyville is World Champion, Eric Thompson almost made the Olympics, Charles Baines was a world Champion and fought on Team Dallas in the Chuck Norris League, Brad Pole of Primal just fought on pay per view and won. The list goes on. There are a ton of hall of famers in the area as well as "world champions" Not trying to rag on anyone. Just know the facts before you talk.
11:37 Don't go anon before you speak. We have the proof and the trophy's to speak not the mention the transcripts from the Hall of Fame. This is pre PKA. Dad is a Bando Master also so maybe research a little more before you speak!

Hi Ted! I just bought a house that I was told your father used to own. 27026 Mt Vernon rd.. Is that true? I've also heard Chuck Norris used to hang out at the house. Another story I have heard is that your father helped design or did design Ocean Pines. Heard he had the blue prints hung all around the living room. I would love to know if these stories are true! Any insight you could provide would be so appreciated!
