If you want a real laugh, read tripadvisor stories about our very own Alamo in West Ocean City, MD-

You don't have to go th OC for a bad room, just stay at the local Sheraton/Ramada (or whatever it's called now) on Riverwalk. I stayed there a few years ago and the place is the worst. Had to argue for a non-smoking room as per reservation. The "bellhop" hadn't been to the bathroom without hitting his pants in years (and smelled it). Awakened about 1 in the morning because they had rented the banquet room and couldn't control the crowd, they were dancing on cars and picnic tables. The rooms were dirty as well as the bathrooms. The pool area was a hazard. I've had the same luck in Virgina Beach, OC and Lancaster, and I've found that if a Motel/Hotel is run by "Arabs" it's no place to stay.

They seem to have left out the Thrift Travel Inn and Chesapeake Inn, just check their online reviews, quite good advertisements for access to drugs and prostitutes.
