Are The Democrats & Republicans Holding Off The Inevitable?

Earlier today I put up a Post referencing Wicomico County reducing salaries instead of furlough days. What I didn't touch on and I'd like to do now is this. Are the Democrats, (who know we're broke) trying to simply stall a skyrocketing UNEMPLOYMENT rates?

I watched a late broadcast on the BBC News last night where they stated they felt that while Bush will be remembered for taking us to war, Obama will be remembered for a huge unemployment rate, something the Obama Administration already knows is inevitable.

While Obama continues to print money in the hopes of keeping this from becoming a reality, who's going to truly suffer, you and me, that's who. Politicians are NOT representing Americans. They're constantly protecting the reputation of Democrats or Republicans and this has to end.

We need to SAVE this Country before we LOSE IT! If it means admitting we're in a depression and hitting rock bottom, by God, let it happen before people revolt. Do we want to see friends and family members being shot in the streets because there is no trust any more or democrats who disagree with republicans. Even if something like this happens, do people realize we'd be in an even worse place than we would be if we simply admitted we're in a jam and we need to work TOGETHER to rebuild what we've lost.

I personally think it's time we ALL admit on ALL sides that many mistakes have been made. NOW is the time to rebuild and help support our future. Of course, this is just my opinion but as I grow older and wiser I can see each and every day things are getting worse and too many obvious realities are being covered up.

Make the cuts, deal with the unemployment and let's move forward, TOGETHER/UNITED.

Wrong Joe. Workers ARE being furloughed for a day but instead of being paid for 4 days that week, they are taking that one day lost pay and spreading it out over the rest of the FY. Thus the "reduction" and hopefully less of an impact to the individual.

Joe, I hear people say that we must unite all the time. But reality is that this country has almost always existed as a two party system. Ever since becoming a voter, I have always thought that the two party system is an antiquated dinosaur, and that each candidate should run on a platform of policy, not party. It looks like the Republican party has crashed and burned up. I hope they will emerge like a pheonix, redefined and ready for the future.

The more that are unemployed, the more lose their health insurance, and the bleaker the outlook, the more people look for help. BAM! now you have those dependent voters you're looking for to chant for "free" handouts and health insurance! All you have to do is dangle that carrot out there!

When you do go back to work, your pay will not be yours.
