WOULD THERE BE A SALISBURY FOOD TAX, TOO, IF COMEGYS WINS?

A few years ago, when the City Council was controlled by Barrie and her "Dream Team" puppets – Comegys, Cathcart & Dunn – she asked them to support getting state legislation to allow the City to put a tax on food sales. They danced to her tune, until the local restaurant operators presented a petition with a couple thousand signatures by persons who objected. Then Bubba and his buddies abandoned ship.

Clearly Comegys is a tax and spend career bureaucrat at the State Highway Administration (probably Maryland’s most overfed agency). He has voted twice to raise the City’s property tax rate, which has increased by more than 25% since 2003. He was first elected in 2004.

And look at how he has approved spending our tax dollars: that "TIF" subsidy for the old mall, funding a marina that burns money, refurbishing the obsolete and unused "standpipe" and the nonsense proposed for the "North Prong", not to mention the pork for the fire department. We can expect much higher taxes if Bubba wins.

Here’s the best way to restore fiscal discipline in Salisbury – ELECT BOB CALDWELL. And cast your other vote for Jim Ireton to eliminate Bubba from being in the general election.

I don't see Jabba the Hut, I mean Mr. Comegys, supporting additional food taxes. He never met a ham sandwich he didn't like.

Go back and look at the records. He certainly did try very hard to advance the food tax for local restaurants. The only thing he likes better than a ham sandwich is more tax money to spend. (a little humor)

We need everyone to call their friends, families and neighbors to offer them a ride to the polls to vote for Caldwell and Ireton.

Please everyone do your civic duty and help us win back our city. Even if you are in the county you can still help out at the polls. What affects the city will have a detrimental affect on the county.

Please do your part at the polls as well. Stay there all day long and wave signs.

Joe, it might be a good idea to list the polling places. I talked to a friend yesterday and she thought she was going to Wi Hi to vote. I don't believe that is so.

Down with Bubba and his tax and spend philosophy!

If Bubba had to pay taxes on food he's have to go bankrupt again. The man is DOA from the neck up!

Don't forget Bubba's as crooked as a dog's hind leg. He'd probably support a food tax, then find some sneaky, underhanded way to "make back" more than what he pays in such taxes.

I trust the man about as far as I could throw a fireboat.
