GARY COMEGYS, AN ENGINEER – NOT

The voters guide published by The Daily Times yesterday describes Mr. Comegys as an “engineer” with the State Highway Administration. That may be the official term for his position, but he is not a professional engineer – i.e., licensed as such in Maryland – according to the State website that lists the licensed engineers. He’s just another Maryland state bureaucrat.

Hey Joe, can we take a pre-primary poll to see where the candidates stand among the voters? I'm beginning to actually worry that Comegys, his slummy cohorts and his unethical tactics might actually pull this one off!

Bump Bubba folks!!!!

Here's the deal. You know how every time you bring up Salisbury News and ask someone if they've been here they always say, yeah. Well, I ask EVERYONE about this Mayoral race and I'm always fair by asking, do you think Copmegys will win? HELL NO! That's the standard reply I always get. According to 99.9% of the people I have spoken to, (in the thousands) not one of them are voting or even like Gary Comegys. We don't need a Poll, he's toast and if he wins the election was clearly fixed.

Well, that is comforting! I've talked to a bunch of people, mostly in real estate and local business, and all I've heard from them is "vote Comegys".

But then again that's just a bunch compared to your thousands. I genuinely hate the man and I hate the majority of the folks that kiss his rear every night in order to get their personal agendas achieved....

Prepare yourself, Joe. They always have a plan--I'm thinking we'll see a bus from that old-folks development that would only allow Comegys to speak to its residents taking people to the polls.

Don't just hope someone else steps up, get out and vote on Tuesday. The lines will be very short so it will not take much time to cast your ballot. This could very well come down to 5-6 votes.

I have met some people who are thinking of voting for Comegeys. And I see the signs around Salisbury basically just as much as Ireton!

I'm scared.
I would be interested in a pre poll...but I think it would have to be on a non-biased site and not directed via link from a biased website/blog. Because this blog is very anti Comegees so everyone would get on a skew the actual results....is there a poll on WBOC? or WMDT?

THE STORY OF BUBBA AND THE ENGINEER!

Once upon a time there was an engineer.
Drove a locomotive both far and near.
Accompanied by a monkey that would sit on a stool
Watching everything the engineer would do
One day the engineer wanted a bite to eat,
He left the monkey sitting on the driver's seat,
The monkey pulled the throttle, the locomotive jumped the gun
And did 80 miles an hour down the mainline run.

Big locomotive right on time, big locomotive coming down the line.
Big locomotive No. 99, left the engineer with a worried mind.

The engineer called up the dispatcher on the phone,
To tell him all about his locomotive was gone.
Dispatcher got on the wire, switch operator to the right,
Cause the monkey's got the main line sewed up tight.
The switch operator got the message on time,
Said there's a Northbound livin' on the same main line,
Open up the switch I'm gonna let him through the hole,
Cause the monkey's got the locomotive under control.

Big locomotive right on time, big locomotive coming down the line.
Big locomotive No. 99, left the engineer with a worried mind.

I'm with Doug Wilkerson. Sadly, that's what it's gonna be.

Never underestimate the Gary=Barrie Machine.

After a poor showing in the 2007 primary election, Bubba rebounded to squeak through with the help of his buddies Lynn Cathcart and Richard Insley, mostly through poisoning students with lies.

They are already exposing their hand even before the primary. Tells you they're desperate, but also that "you ain't seen nothin' yet."

I know this might upset people, but if you really want to defeat Comegys, Ireton is the guy to do it. I realize that money isn't everything, but it is clear that his campaign team is really well organized, and he stands the best chance of actually defeating Comegys. I heard him on WICO this morning, and he took off the gloves and landed a few punches on Comegys (all fair shots focused on Comegys's campaign, nothing personal). It seems clear to me that a vote for Ireton is the best way to get Bubba out of there.

We have 2 votes for Mayor either way. I'm voting for Ireton Caldwell to send a message and get Bubba out in the primaries and rid the thought of that trash. I will vote Ireton in the general elections but here's the chance to get rid of him now don't waste that opportunity.

Isn't the city population around 25,000? I doubt any of us have talked to even a fraction of the voters. The election could go any direction.

Dropped out/flunked out of Salisbury State College, got a job with the SHA leaning on a shovel. Sucked up to management, screwed coworkers, got to drive an SUV around, while smoking a fat cigar, checking other peoples' work and seeing what he could take credit for to boost his political worth. The job title is Senior District Project Engineer, but he's as much an engineer as Sister Theresa was a rodeo clown. Look up the Engineer positions on the State hiring website. Nothing less than a Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred, with four or five years of experience necessary.

SHA loves to label positions with the word engineer. It helps when the intent is to overpay them.
