THE SALISBURY PRIMARY: USE ALL YOU’VE GOT – DO A DOUBLE SHOT

Tomorrow will be a real opportunity for City voters to “throw the bums out” in order to restore Salisbury after 10 plus years of the turmoil and travesty fomented by Barrie Tilghman and her puppets on the City Council that include the Dream Team (Comegys, Cathcart & Dunn) and now the Comegys-Smith-Shields consortium. There are two positions on the ballot: mayor and the District 1 seat on the Council now held by Shanie Shields, who is seeking reelection. In each contest, a voter may cast his or her ballot for two different candidates. The two winners in each will run in the general election on April 7.

Ms. Shields is the lesser evil, so let’s discuss the contest for her seat first. Fortunately, there are two viable candidates to replace her – Tim Chaney and Cynthia Polk. Probably 60-70% of the District 1 voters favor one of that pair, and the other 30% or so prefer Shields. If those who prefer Chaney or Polk cast a vote for both, Shanie is history.

And now the main event – to decide the candidate to succeed Salisbury’s worst mayor in recent history, possibly all-time, who has presided over the rape of the City by slumlords and developers. Many prayed yesterday that it won’t be Comegys, who is probably the worst member of the City Council in recent memory, and the only one to be hauled into Circuit Court for non-payment of child support while serving as a member.

Voters who prefer one of the other mayoral candidates – especially those who support Jim Ireton – may cast their “2nd” vote for Bob Caldwell. If enough do that, tomorrow will be the beginning of the end of an era in which commercial interests have controlled City government and used it as their personal cash cow.

Don’t squander this opportunity by wasting your “2nd vote” in the primary election tomorrow. BANG . . . BANG!

Local 4246 career firefighters have aligned with city volunteers to support Jim Ireton in the primary. Sorry Gary you hated career firefighters when you were a volunteer so it’s pay back time.

Vote for Bob Caldwell and Jim Ireton.

Send Bubba back to wherever he came from, and send Barrie back to Easton, PA where she once lived

11:24 --

I hope the FF's are going to double-shot: Caldwell and Ireton. What's the plan?

Please respond (and thanks for your dedication and courage).

We need everyone to call their friends, families and neighbors to offer them a ride to the polls to vote for Caldwell and Ireton.

Please everyone do your civic duty and help us win back our city. Even if you are in the county you can still help out at the polls. What affects the city will have a detrimental affect on the county.

Please do your part at the polls as well. Stay there all day long and wave signs.

Joe, it might be a good idea to list the polling places. I talked to a friend yesterday and she thought she was going to Wi Hi to vote. I don't believe that is so.

The Career Firefighters are supporting Jim Caldwell and Bob Caldwell in the Primary. Sorry about the typo above.

Does anyone find it interesting the firemen don’t support one of their own members? You know that sends up a big red flag to not vote Comegys!

If any crack head off the street ran against Gary Comegys I would vote for the crack head before I’d vote for Comegys.

Polling places are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Voters in District 1 can cast their ballot at St. James AME Zion Church, while voters in District 2 are split between Harvest Baptist Church and Wicomico Presbyterian Church. Voters should have received a mailing from the Wicomico County Board of Elections with their polling place. For questions, call 410-548-4830.
