"Hey Joe. I know it has got to be a busy day for you, but I was surprised that there has not been any mention of the ID-less voting going on. I was fortunate enough to be able to vote today at Pinehurst Elementary School and was shocked that I was not asked for any verification of my identity. No photo ID, or voter's card was inquired of. I simply told my last name and month and day of birth. Anyone could have voted as me. Many family members and friends encountered the same thing. Doesn't this make you wonder? Is this just our county, state, or national procedure?

I firmly agree. I went to the Polls this morning and was NOT required to produce an ID either. Now granted, perhaps these people knew me but with all due respect, I didn't know them. I have had several conversations with others telling me the same story. Some were required to provide an ID but most were not. Very Interesting.

This was first year I had to show photo id in delaware...
It is against the law in Maryland to ask for an ID. Blame that on the F#%KING Liberal Democrats. Don't you remember how Bubba got re-elected in the Salisbury City Council?
I am so damned mad at this point I can't see straight. I have a bad feeling that we have given our country away and it is only getting worse.
I voted in Fruitland and when I went to the table I tried to hand my drivers license and voter registration card to the staffer, and she said 'oh no I don't need that' and just asked my name, for me to verify my address and month and day of birth. My husband voted there also and was asked for his pic id - he was in a different line than I was. I thought it quite odd myself.
We made the good people of Iraq dip there thumb in ink that couldn't be washed off for three days to make sure they only voted once. They were also required to place an impression of their thumb print on their ballot.
Now why, in a country that spreads democracy, will we not require the same of ourselves? We are the leading country in just about everything, but we can't figure out how to have fair elections?
I for one think we can do so much better. Everyone that is 18 or over must have some type of picture ID. This should be the minimum requirement when voting. Again, just like our borders, let's leave things wide open for all sorts of illegal activity to occur.
They're not allowed to ask for ID you can give it to them as proof of residencey but they are not allowed to ask.
They will only ask your B/D and verify your name and address before you proceed to vote .
I didn't have to show ID in Ocean City either

They haven't required a photo ID in Salisbury/Wicomico going back as far as I can remember.
Asbury required my name, address and birthdate (month and day).
Voter stream was steady and the officials moved us through quickly.
In 2006, I remember I had to show my ID-my first time voting at Westside Primary. In 2004, I went to the wrong polling place and logically, I needed an ID. I guess it just depends on the person you get and if you go to the right place. I haven't gone to vote yet, but I'll have my ID just in Case.
And this is why we are firing the old ones and bringing in the new. It is time for a change to happen in this country.
I voted at Harvest Baptist Church. All the lady asked for was my last name, first name and date of birth. No ID or address was required. I guess I could have lived in any state, at any address, and I still could have voted, who knows.
This was the 3rd election I have voted in. In VA they asked for driver's license and my voter's card. Then when I moved out here to MD last election they asked for ID and then this election refused to look at my id or voter card. How is this preventing voter fraud?

You wake up! I am not one for the lack in security to make sure this election like the ones before are legitimate. Each election it seems to be very relaxed and too passive. It is becoming easier and easier for voting fraud to take place. What is the purpose of having an id or voter card when they won't or are not allowed to check it? There is some waste to cut right there. Stop printing the cards and cut who knows how many jobs that it takes to process your voting into and the printing of the voter card.
Does anyone know why they can't ask for ID?
They can check to see if I am old enough to smoke, drink, drive or to verify my identity when making a purchase with my credit card...why can't they verify who I am when I vote?
I had my license in hand at Stephen Decatur Middle School in Berlin. The few that were in front of my in line did not have ID. They were asked for their name and date of birth. I was surprised.

I now reside in Prince Georges County and was only asked for my voter registration card, and to verify my name and date of birth. I voted in Wicomico County in 2006 and was asked for a photo ID. I saw today that people did not have their voter ID card with them, so they just asked for their name and date of birth. I think they should do more, because I could see voter fraud happening very quickly and easily. With some of the things people do these days, nothing would surprise me!

The argument is if photo ID is required, it will make lower income people who can't afford IDs less likely to vote. Even if this is the case, this is complete bull S#*%!!! It is illegal in Maryland for an adult not to have a govt issued ID on them. So this is great... we're not going to enforce our laws so they can vote.
The key ingredient to the illusion is denial, its where most of their power comes from, aint perspective a bitch.

It is your liberal left wingnuts that have caused this problem. Vote early and vote often so the criminal dumbocrats can get elected. There is no longer a democracy and in the future I see fighting in the streets and assassinations during elections just like third world countries. We are quickly becoming a third world country and it can be blamed on the bleeding heart liberals.

I was asked for my license in 2004!
My parents, whom voted in Delmar DE had to produce both their voter card and license!!

calm down people your id is only required when you are a first time voter and if you register by mail. My ID was required for my first election in 2006 because i rergistered by mail. after your initila verification you do not need to show id. you all are the most uninformed bunch about a lot of things and it is sad. not one of you who is complaining has made the effort to call the county board of elections or gone to the FAQ section of their website to find out why ID is not checked. the first thing you do is complain. Laziness and lack of intellectual curiosity will be our downfall.
I was bothered by this as well. I wish they would ask for a form of government picture ID and voter registration card.

I am 41 and have voted since I turned 18. I have voted in Pittsville and in Salisbury and have never been asked to show an id or voter card. Just my name address and date of birth. Every election I always ask, "would you lkie to see my id? " always told no. I've always that that was odd. My 20 yr old daughter was so excited to vote in her first presidential election today. Casted her McCain and Harris vote too.
Another scary fact these individual stories are highlighting is the severe LACK of standardization in procedures across polling places. At the very least, there should be the same set of procedures within a county, if not the state! This is obviously missing! At one polling place, you are asked for ID, at others just your name. The whole system is clearly designed to allow for fraud!
People on the fringe of society,the very people ACORN targeted recently for registrations drives,like inmates and other transients,almost never have an ID.And to ask for it would be discrimatory in some perverse way according to the liberal watchdog groups.The whole scenario is ripe for voter fraud!!!!!

voter fraud is why i voted against the allowance of voting ahead of time and in differant districts....it would be more convient but it opens the door more for fraud. If the laws get changed to require photo id then it would be differant but you know how that goes.

My granddaughter voted for her first time today. She didn't have her voters registration card or her ID on her. They never asked her for anything other than her name and DOB she then proceeded to vote. She could not believe they didn't verify her identity and asked them why. They told her they have her info in the system all they needed was her name and DOB. Pretty damned pathetic system we have these days.
Never been asked to show ID only asked my name and DOB and asked if I still reside at ***** Marktet Street.
I do live in a small town and most of them know me, but there is nooooo way the nice little old ladies at the polls today knew all of those young people who came in today.
I had to go to Harvest Baptist because my change of address card didn't get in in time, but I was asked for my license for I.D. My wife did get her change of address in in time and went to Civic center and did not have to show I.D. No set standards?
I wasn't even asked for my date of birth. I feel like it is my business that I am voting and I don't need to broadcast my name out loud. It would be like going to the bank and giving out my account number to the teller and anyone else who was listeneing. I was very disappointed, like you said I didn't know them and they didn't know me.

When voting for the PRESIDENT, i would think verifying a voter vis ID should be the standard!
even walmart has higher security standars... you need id to cash a check there. our voting system is a joke. it is designed to fool the american public into believing they have a say in anything.
I worked the polls and in our training we were told to NOT ask for ID. If people had their ID's we looked at them for spelling of their names, but an ID was not mandatory.
The workers were doing their job correctly, call the Board of Elections for clarification.
