Today's Daily Times

Two quick things I want to touch base on referencing today's Daily Times.

#1, what were they thinking when they put a photo of the Delmar Motel on the front page when they discussed the Micro Brewery dumping any thoughts of being in Salisbury? This is about the third article they have done on this and when they sent a photographer out to get a photo of the former IGA Store in Delmar, they came back to base with a photo of a Motel instead.

#2, I was reading the business section where they have an article titled, "Don't use credit card to pay down mortgage." Here's my thinking. Are YOU really supposed to be taking advise about financial maters from a Company that is extremely close to going belly up themselves. I mean, the article is accurate. I just found it ironic that Gannet had the nerve to be telling ANYONE how to handle their finances.

Before I get a ton of comments saying, I THOUGHT YOU CANCELLED YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, I'll repeat. I did cancel my subscription. The Idiots are still delivering a newspaper though. I wonder what happens when THEY fire someone. Does it take days before they actually get it?

Have a great Election Day Folks.

When i cancelled my subscription last year, the deliveries just kept on coming. I called the circulation 2 more times and put a big note out for the carrier before they finally stopped delivering that tired rag.

Hey Joe - you owe me $$$.

Just paid 75 cents for today's daily slime at a paper box -- they increased the price by 50% so they could keep giving you a free copy.

Go figure -- but not until you pay up!

I have a challenge for you Joe. Lets see if you can go more than a week without bring up the Daily Times. My hunch is, you can't do it. If the Daily Times goes down so does Joe "I have nothing better to write about" Alberto. Peace and be sure to vote OBAMA.

Looking back over the years, I'm amazed they have survived this long. Their slanted views, censorship, and close ties with special interest eradicates any credibility associated with this newspaper.

I really do hope they go out of business.

The sad part about the Daily Crime is even though you called some call center down in Kentucky or maybe they are now in Indiana, the carriers here don't get the message from the office or Nikki LaVigne. The carriers keep on delivering because we don't know you cancelled. The worse part is WE THE CARRIERS still have to pay for your newspaper even though YOU cancelled.

You got it right when this newspaper was dubbed THE DAILY CRIME. Its criminal how they abuse the carriers.

RE: The picture of the motel..You are absolutely right. I was thinking the same thing. What a great piece of photography that once again does not link to the story headlines! Not trying to stir up trouble, but the same thing happens through out the RAG. How many times is the sports headline is similar to "Phil Mickelson leads in ... golf match." and the times shows a picture of Tiger Woods? This even happens with local sports. Re: the micro brewery article, Who gives a rats ass what Memo Diriker has to say...he cant find his wallet with both hands. What a loser

ya know I'm sure there are honest people that work there. Hard working people. People who are just trying to get by like the rest of us. And to have you say you want them closed? Shut down? I don't think that is an appropriate response to not liking their paper. Or not getting it on time. Or not being satisfied. You want people to lose their jobs? Over what? Sure some of them deserve it. But I'm sure there are many who don't. In an economy like this you should be support local business. Thats the sort of action we need at this time in America. Americans helping Americans. Maybe I will subscribe so that one employee can stay on payroll and manage to feed their kids.

Let me explain a little something to you, since you're obviously very young.

If you go to McDonalds and buy a hamburger, small fries and a small coke on Tuesday and it cost you $2.50, on Wednesday you go in and buy the same thing and the cost is now $4.50 for the same items, would you keep going back?

Come on now. If they were delivering FRESH news, especially front page news, that would be one thing. They are lying, changing stories and missleading people every single day. That's why Salisbury News has been so successful. No, we're not the journalists they are but we do get you the news and information well before they do and remember this as well. They tried the Blogs and failed miserably. Now they're begging everyone else to create a Blog on their Website but guess what, THEY OWN IT!

If you choose to go elsewhere with that Blog, you CAN'T! Anyhow, people are obviously fed up with their game and now that there's another game in town people are seeing it more and more. It's kind of like Gilchrest switching parties, people are NOT happy with the man.

You didn't address my point. What about the people losing their jobs that don't deserve it?

Oh, I see what you're saying.

So we should give the Daily Times a BAILOUT as well because they can't run their company properly?

Every single business in the world has risks. If they can't compete against ONE Blogger, then they lose their jobs and that's all there is to it.

I didn't see you crying the blues when other MAJOR companies were closing their doors locally. So you must be one of the employees at the Daily Times.

Yes, they will lose their jobs. That's a part of life and business. Start looking for a new one now because they're NOT going to survive. Oh, I'll add, remember that guy who had worked there 40+ years and they terminated him. Where was your comment then too?

"Oh, I see what you're saying.

I didn't say anything of the sort.

"Every single business in the world has risks. If they can't compete against ONE Blogger, then they lose their jobs and that's all there is to it."
Yes business does have its risks. A whole newspaper shut down to a blogger? You think highly of yourself.

"I didn't see you crying the blues when other MAJOR companies were closing their doors locally. So you must be one of the employees at the Daily Times."
Nope. Never said that either. I am not. I have a job elsewhere.

"Yes, they will lose their jobs. That's a part of life and business. Start looking for a new one now because they're NOT going to survive. Oh, I'll add, remember that guy who had worked there 40+ years and they terminated him. Where was your comment then too?"

My concern is for the people that have done nothing wrong. Maybe we can refer them to your help wanted section since you have so much credibility. I feel for the gentleman that worked there 40 plus years also. My point still stands. I have been layed off because of poor planning of a major corporation. Its not fun. Its a part of life yes. But being an American and living in this area my whole life, I don't like to see MY eastern shore friends put in a bad situation. So my point is why not be constructive instead. You talk bad about the Daily Times constantly. With out word one mention of the the people that will lose their jobs that have done nothing wrong. Its heartless, unthoughtful, and NOT AMERICAN LIKE. So sit in your little corner office, snap your pictures, and don't stop to think about it. You talk about wanting whats best for Americans. That they shouldn't fight to keep their jobs. The people that work hard day in and day out. Piss or get off the pot Joe.

You Sir are a wert pants liberal and a FOLLOWER!

It is NOT my responsibility NOR yours for everyone who loses their job.

The point RIGHT NOW is that the Daily Times has NOT closed their doors YET and those so called people you're so concerned about better start looking for jobs NOW.

If they don't, do you think I care at that point? NO! They are NOT my responsibility. The writing is on the wall, take advantage of it.

I cannot recall the DT doing ANYTHING positive or correct when printing something about Delmar anyway.

They ALWAYS either have the wrong picture for the story, misquote someone they've talked to, get the story backwards, do an incomplete story or just outright LIE!

Daily Times should stay the hell out of Delmar! You're not wanted and you're not welcome!!!

"We must always remember that America is a great nation today not because of what government did for people but because of what people did for themselves and for one another." -- Richard Nixon

Turning a blind eye is not going to help your fellow man. It doesn't matter to me that you don't like the Daily times to be honest. The point is that people are going to lose their jobs if you get your way. And you don't care. How about a little bit of foresight for compassion?

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

p.s. I'm a Republican. I don't know where you got liberal from.

joe albero said...

P.S.

Republicans are man enough to put their names up and not hide behind anonymous when they're making a point.

Let me put it to you this way.

I FIRED THE DAILY TIMES A FEW DAYS AGO. I felt good about doing so and those Democrats aren't getting another dime from me from this point forward, or should I say dollar now that they raised their prices through the roof.

I don't like Fox News. I get it on cable, but I can't stand it, so I don't watch it.

I have better stuff to do than watch Fox News just to whine about it later.

But, hey, that's me.

Can't wait until someone finally pins you down and takes you for all you own. How does that feel Joe? This is the same thing you throw up every day. The Daily Times this, The Daily Times that. You're always crying like a little girl. Be player not a hater. Let them do their reporting and you do yours. You don't see them dragging you through the mud. Oh, that's because you would sue them.
