Waldo Makes His Rounds

While Police Chief Webster passes by my Office I snapped a shot of him driving away. I was leaving the Office at the time to walk up to the Kratovil Press Conference in front of the GOB and Webster obviously made a U-Turn, (so to speak) to head down the Plaza once again towards my Office. Some of you think I'm obsessed. This guy needs to get a life or at least go to work trying to find the MURDERER still on the loose. Come on Chiefy, use your cameras if you want to follow someone around. You can do so without ever leaving the Office.

why doesn't chiefy concentrate on getting the pay and tools needed for the officers to be able to do something about this crime problem? Agencies around have better equipment such as in car radars and cameras. I also heard that SPD is the only larger agency on eastern shore that does not have a drug dog. You mean to tell me Ocean City Police, Wicomico County Sheriff, Somerset County Sheriff, Princess Anne Police, Cambridge Police, Worcester County Sheriff, Dorchester County Sheriff all have drug dogs but Salisbury City doesnt? No wonder drugs are ravaging the city.

why does he have to drive a big ole p.i. crown vic that sucks down fuel at a mere 12 to 14 mpg? police forces everwere need some cobalts and some fusions in the fleet to ease some of this fuel consumption.like the guys serving summons , orders and stuff why not put them in a fuel efficent american vehicle because they travel all over the county many times over and have no need for a full pursuit crn vic. just my opie but you have to start somewere.

Maybe he's more comfortable riding around in his car where he's alone in the a/c without having to pay for the gas. I'm sure his own company is more comfortable than being around the office where he makes things tense for everyone around him. It's interesting to hear from people who formerly worked there to seek employment elsewhere BECAUSE they couldn't stand being around him any longer. Does he not wear a uniform because of his belly? Has anyone ever seen him run on the job? That man seems to be a Title, nothing more. Shame the taxpayers have to pay for his gas.

Yeh, I too see him riding around town in his unmarked police car. Must be nice, being paid all that money just to ride around town in a car that we tax payers paid for and on the gas we paid for. You'd think he might try saving us some gas and go do his job at Police Headquarters bldg.

Joe-
I heard the Police chief of Crisfield got a DWI last week in Salisbury. Is that true and why wasn't it reported if it is???

even chincoteague has a K9

Salisbury needs to buy him a scooter that way he could save gas and keep an eye on Joe at the same time. Just think he could start a trend - Salisbury Scooter Cop Patrol.

I hope who ever is thinking about being the next mayor has enough foresight to find a replacement before the election so that the chief can be the first to receive his walking papers.

I just don't think the turnover of officers is all about pay,or the raise they were supposed to get until Comegys got elected along with Smith and cut the payraise out of the budget without looking to cut spending elsewhere to fund the policemen's wages.

The turnover, is also partly due to internal problems a plenty.

Even the rookies know they are only playing with themselves. Those that have left the department can now speak out and are doing so.

I just looked at the website for the Salisbury PD and it is very tacky looking and looks very cheap. If I am not mistaken the Salisbury PD has a full time IT person. Is that correct?

About a month ago Webby was pulling onto Rt. 13 from Main St. and almost nailed me without hesitation. What does he do?? Haha. I always see him downtown. Why? Nobody goes downtown because the city has neglected it so.
