You need to watch this! The majority of our politicians just do what it takes to get re-elected, and it doesn't take a genius to realize which ones are keeping us from drilling for our own oil.....Furthermore, our worthless news media did NOT tell us about this speech in Congress....

We have to move away from fossil fuels. In ten years I hope we're beginning to reap the benefits of increased research and development in alternatives, not simply blundering along continuing to choke the ecosystem.
You may not like it, it may sound like I'm one of those environmental nuts but I'm not. In our march to a better future fossil fuels must go the way of the dodo.
Is it "our" oil? Who says so? If Exxon/Mobil or Shell builds the platforms, extracts the oil, and refines it for gasoline, wouldn't the oil belong to them. Then, couldn't they sell the oil to anyone they wished, preferrably (for them) the highest bidder?
Is it the government that is going to dictate that the oil be sold to the United States at reduced price? If that is the case, wouldn't that be government interfering in the market? If the government does not intervene, how do we ensure that the specific oil company will sell this oil to the United States at all? And at what cost?
Are we counting on the goodness of their hearts, or a drastci change in how we view the "free market?"
