Crisfield Boat Docking Competition III

More than $12,000.00 was spent in bleachers alone this year for this competition. Also, although the Daily Times got it wrong once again, the Prize Money was not $15,000.00, it was $30,000.00 in Prize Money.

I'll ask the Chamber of Commerce to post the names of all the competitors and winners of this event as I don't want to get it wrong. LOL

To be quite frank, it wasn't about winners and losers in this competition. Everyone participating had a great time and I have YET to see ANY other event where so many thousands of people attended and got so involved anywhere else on the Eastern Shore.

Don't miss this event in Salisbury this Saturday! Brew River will host the event and my hat is tipped to them for bringing it to Salisbury. I may not have enjoyed the food when I was there last and although the Crisfield event was free to everyone attending, there will be a charge to get into the Salisbury event.

I personally don't get it? They pretty much have an exclusive audience for this event and it's not like people are going to go elsewhere for food and beverages, but it is what it is and the event is a BLAST! Maybe next year they'll change their mind?

You can bet you won't see anyone diving into the water at Brew River, especially since the report is out that the water is worse this year than it was last year and it was worse last year than it was the year before. I just don't see this becoming an event like that held in Crisfield.

Nice try Barrie, Greater Salisbury and Urban Salisbury Committees, anything to pump yourselves up just before making an attempt at stealing the north prong from it's rightful owners. You people SUCK!

The event at Brew River will include an admission fee of $5.00, so we can watch the boats churn up the SH** !!! For gods sake hop no one falls in the water!! THANKS SALISBURY FOR DESTROYING THE QUALITY OF THE RIVER !!!!!! IDIOTS!!

Why are they charging for the Salisbury event??
If no one goes maybe they won't charge next year.

Roger Moore, I would really like for you to talk to a Smith island waterman or Tangier or Hoopers island and call this event a piece of shit, You might want to think about what your saying........

To set the record straight on donation fees for the Crisfield Boat Docking Contest, "General Admission" was $15 per person and "Reserved Seating" was $25 (i.e., this ticket provided a guaranteed seat). It must be noted that these fees provided free entrance into Crisfield's "Crab Bowl" after the Boat Docking Contest for all the "Crab Derby" festivities held there. It's impossible for the Chamber of Commerce to hold the Boat Docking Contest without entrance fees due to the expenses involved, for example - prize money to the participating watermen this year was well over $30,000, rental bleachers $12,000, advertising $4,000, etc., etc. The fees from our great audience along with donations from our generous sponsors are what make the Contest possible.

I like the boat docking contest and so do many others, no one is telling you what to enjoy or not to enjoy, if you don't like it just shut up and go about your own buisness.
I don't think anyone is begging you to be present. Why don't you get a life and stop trying to tell others what to and not to do. If I want to dive in the water, so what?
