TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURES STARTING THIS WEEK ON SOUTHBOUND US 13 BUSINESS IN SALISBURY

Daytime Right Lane Closure Scheduled between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Starting this week, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will temporarily close the right southbound lane on US 13 Business (Salisbury Boulevard) between Newton Street and extending as far as South Boulevard. The right lane closure is necessary for preliminary work associated with an upcoming drainage improvement project that will begin late this summer.

Lane closures are expected to only affect southbound traffic; however, crews could possibly close the right lane heading northbound as well. Roadwork is expected to take place weekdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. All lanes will be open for evening rush hour traffic.

With over 23,000 vehicles traveling daily on southbound US13 Business, motorists are encouraged to add extra commute time. MDOT SHA’s contractor, George and Lynch, Inc. of Dover Del., will use cones and barrels to guide motorists through the work zone.

Road projects are underway across Maryland. Click here for e-Road Ready 2017, an interactive map of MDOT SHA’s largest projects throughout the State.

Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands. Maryland drivers can also know before they go by calling 511 or visiting www.md511.org for live traffic updates, including construction delays and lane closures.

If Joe were Mayor this would never happen.

Surely, you can't be serious. Yes I am, and stop calling me Shirley.
This is un-f****-believable!!
Starting a southbound project on the same say that the southbound vacation traffic most needs an alternate route. This was an opportunity for US13 businesses to have a gangbuster summer.
Do the highway planners have any functional neurons left?!?!
Can local leaders override this so it can be postponed until September?

Another 3 year closure, or will it be done in a timely manner? 7:44, it needs to be done, but it needs to get done a lot faster than the last time at the south end.

Again? They had this stretch of road closed for like 2 years just a year ago. Closed in time for rush hour traffic, but work doesn't end until 6pm? Rush hour starts at 3pm.

I'm all for infrastructure improvement, and think we should be patient of road work, but I don't see why this project can't be done from 6pm to 6am instead!

How about repaving N and S Camden Ave in Fruitland. That area near Clyde Avenue has pot holes and bumps all in the road. CLyde avenue near Food Lion needs done.
