Madaleno poised to challenge Hogan in 2018

Gay Maryland state Sen. Rich Madaleno (D-Montgomery County) appears poised to officially declare his candidacy for governor in 2018.

The Washington Post reported Madaleno and two other Democrats who are expected to challenge Gov. Larry Hogan — Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamentz and former NAACP President Benjamin Jealous — spoke at the Young Democrats of Maryland’s convention in Lanham on April 1.

The Post reported Madaleno criticized Hogan, but he did not officially declare himself a candidate. Madaleno referred the Washington Blade to the Post article when asked whether he plans to run for governor.

GOOD LUCK!! Hogan is going to be tough to beat and you know why? Because I am a relatively conservative republican and even I don't always agree with what he does - That's how I know that he is governing in the best interest of the State of Maryland as a whole and not solely as a partisan politician. He has done a lot for our State during his time in office which is pretty impressive considering that O'Malley left behind an eight year disaster, the rest of Maryland is controlled by democrats and the man even did it while battling CANCER!!!

Hogan IS bipartisan politics at its finest and he needs two terms to turn this state around. Even the hardcore libs that I know don't have hardly anything bad to say about him!
