Absolutely! !! It's entertainment. Everyone should buy several tickets you may get lucky.

Well, since you asked..
Gambling is wrong. It is also addictive.
People who are very poor waste lots of money on it trying to win something, but they rarely do. The 'house' is the big winner, otherwise it wouldn't continue.
If the people who bet on the lottery would take that same money and put it into a savings account with interest, at least they'd have something to show for it in the end.

7:32 is right. It is, indeed a heavy tax on poor people.

I would spend two dollars on something anyway, so took a chance, lost, but if I had spent it on toilet paper - that money would be down the tubes too.

Why is gambling wrong?

7:32AM, you are absolutely correct. Unfortunately, the poor don't see it that way. They tend to view it as a way to get rich quick. Never heard a winner tell the public how much money they've spent over the years. It is entertainment and no, gambling is not wrong when in moderation. If you're gambling instead of buying food for your children its morally wrong but gambling is not wrong nor illegal.

Everyone will say it is a waste of money. Everyone but one person who will say it is the best purchase they've ever made.

it should be entertainment period, if it is anything more to you then it is a problem

I started buying a couple tickets a week, when I quit smoking 7-8 years ago. Still not smoking, still haven't won. But, I'll probably not end up with cancer, so I've got that going for me.

Can't win if don't play.
It's just a game.
Don't we all enjoy a daydream?
Just don't spend beyond disposable fun money.
Going to the movies these days really is a huge waste of money, a lot of money

I might buy a 1/2 dozen tickets a year, strickly entertainment. I don't understand especially low income individuals who spend 50 - 100 dollars a week on the lottery. Lotteries pray on low income people.

A couple of bucks for a dream is ok, when they abuse it that's when it is a problem. I like to get in with a large group it is fun. Hell somebody has to win. Funny thing is the lottery official caught rigging the lottery multiple times last month. Then this crazy super payout Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm The spin

Not a waste to me. If I couldn't afford it I would not play. I feel better spending $2.00 on a ticket as compared to $1.50 on the Daily Times.

Years ago when I smoked and packs were 2 bucks. I would play my birthday box/straight, 2 bucks everyday. One day all I had was 2 bucks and bought cigarettes instead of lottery tickets. GUESS WHAT # CAME OUT?? AFTER THAT DON'T BUY ANY.

Addiction for the small minded.

It buys hope in an otherwise hopeless economy...Even if only temporary.
