While Council Members stated they had received phone calls in support of the pay raises, (complete BS) why not listen to the general public BEFORE you cast a vote.
When public comments came about at the end of the meeting, oh boy! John Palmer and Greg Belcher really let them have it. So much so, Stevie Prettyman showed she has no backbone and barked right back at Mr. Palmer, slamming her paperwork on the counter several times. Even though Prettyman had all her opportunities to speak before the vote, she couldn't show enough RESPECT towards the people there and went on a rant.
It was at that point she got up and stormed out of the room, so mad she did NOT even return for the Work Session. Her job was DONE and she was NOT going to face the very people who elected her.
Is the County Council trying to become the old City Council? Verbally attack ANYONE who disagrees with a Council Member. So much so they'll yell, slam things on the table and then storm out of the room. Mrs. Prettyman HAD HER SAY well before public comments. She should have respectfully sat there and taken the heat because thousands of us firmly disagree with her tactics.
Mrs. Prettyman has been PAID to do her job in that meeting as well as the work session following that meeting and she walked out and did not return to earn her PAY. Hey, maybe that's a good thing.

She has been there to long. I have seen it a hundred times, she whistles a conservative tune while campaigning, but when the time comes she turns RINO. This is why we should have term limits. She has forgotten her roots. What a shame for her to leave in disgrace.

Where does she get the money to live in Florida 1/2 the year and travel back & forth for joke sessions, I mean council meetings?
try being a farmer and walking out.. no corn, no money. fire this woman like a regular person!
i keep hearing about the old county council. i will say this back in the day when we had all of the "good old boys" on the council i really don't remember all of this horse hockey happening. it really seems that nothing that is good for the county is getting done. i beleive that these good old boys had the people and the county at heart and they would get together and get it done. maybe what we need are some good old boys who are mature enough, not emotional, have the people interest at heart and will cut out this crap

You people have NO IDEA what you are talking about. She doesn't spend 6 months in Florida AND everyone on the County Council knew she had to leave early. Instead of blowing off the meeting completely ( like I would have done) she went for as long as possible. Think about it. In the past 16 years, have you EVER seen her run away? Noooooo. She has more balls than anyone on that Council. Like her stand/position or not, she DOES NOT STORM OUT OR RUN AWAY. Get your facts straight.

Stevie was the 1970's -80's infamous disc jockey "Stevie Michaels on 100 KHI" in Ocean City Md. Eventually she worked her way up to the owner's suite. Station owner, Bill Prettyman, ultimately left his wife and family and married her. Prettyman has bought and sold many area radio stations and still owns WEPM in Hagerstown. The concerts, the entertainers and the celebrities she purports to hang out with are simply the result of gratis invitations issued to broadcasting businesses. Stevie married well and you can't fault her for that. She has worked hard on the Council, and yes, she has stayed too long.

Just caught the show on Pac 14. Sorry, but I didn't feel she stormed out of the meeting. Was hoping to see that though. My hat off to Mr. Culver for addressing the info the DT's requested about the county. Someone is trying to keep it a secret what the council members have been reimbursed for. Bet Prettyman has milked the taxpayers to the hilt. Can't wait until that surfaces.
I hope Joe will publish ALL of the council members reimbursements. How 'bout it Joe? No matter what, will you give us the low down for each member?

I think this woman is a simpleton or something. According to a DT's article-"Between fiscal 2008 and 2014, Wicomico County laid off or unfunded 97 positions. The hardest hit departments included roads, which lost 22 employees, and corrections, which lost 25 spots"
