IT'S FOR THE KIDS
Superintendent John Fredericksen went ON THE RECORD yesterday stating the $162,000.00 in question was spent on Pizza and Subs for the kids. We'll just see about that. How many of you believe he's telling the TRUTH?
I know at my daughters school, on some PTA nights, they have provide either chicken or pizza, I am really not sure if the PTA paid for it or the school????
I've heard of the PTA paying for pizza and subs, and I've heard of the office of the principal paying for lunches for students who accomplish various things. I've never heard of the central office paying for food for kids.
I don't know why cafeteria workers can't prepare those items at the schools!!! ( of course that would probably not live up to MICHELLE OBAMA'S standards for nutrition in schools) Poor judgement call!!! This is a SIN!!!! I don't know why children have to be rewarded for things that are expected of them!!! I have always told my kids and grandkids that going to school is your job and responsibility as a child growing up!!
Well speaking from experience, Beaver Run Elementary had a Family Fun night last week for the 1st grade. Parents had to RSVP ahead of time with the # of people coming so they knew how much food to get. We had Subway boxes which included a 6" sub, bottle of water & bag of chips. It was NOT PTA sponsored, it was school sponsored. It was a great night and we had a lot of fun. :)
I don't have a problem with the school paying for events such as this. The parent participation is MUCH HIGHER when food is provided. Schools need to do whatever it takes to get more parent involvement today.
That's only 1 example though of money being spent of food for kids/families. There SHOULD be receipts to substantiate any expenditure by the schools & board though. So if that $162k was for academic incentives, etc., there should be a paper trail.
If you have a legitimate expenditure (for pizza and subs), document it and cut a check. If you think you may be needing some red light novelties, use a gift card because there is no audit trail.
The BOA has credit cards. The only reason to use a gift card instead of a credit card is that the gift card leaves no trail as to how the money was spent. Originally, it was stated that there were $27k in gift cards. Now, there is another $130k expenditure. Since this expenditure (their word) isn't for gift cards, there should be receipts.
My mistake on the 5 year estimate. Make that 16,200 $5 sandwiches, or enough sandwiches for 3200 kids over 2 years, or 1600 per year. Some of the money might have been better spent on teaching kids how to actually make a sub, i.e., a sandwich learning lab. Perhaps ironically, a lot of them will be doing it for a living at some point if things don't improve.
Does Michelle Obama know they are giving the kids Pizza and subs? She would have someones job if they are not giving that healthy cardboard food they recommend.
Yea right. For the kids.. bull.. He don't care about the kids.. never has. He lies about everything. And free food for parents to get involved! That's crazy. Parents try to get involved however we get pushed right out the door... schools and BOE here are crooked. . Now in all fairness there are some good teachers. Not all bad. But if u want to get in good with God almighty ( Frederickson) then u must act as he does.. so glad my kids are out of his hands. He is nuts..
Unfortunately, I do. I know they serve these types of items for PTA functions to encourage parents to attend. This, as well as other functions that generally have low parent turnout. It's a shame parents don't take a more active roll in their kids lives and have to be bribed...
Go here, pick a month, and look at the credit card expenditures of everybody! Rick Pollitt never missed many meals, and bought rounds for the House, it looks like! Credit cards and gift cards.
So you people actually think that the Board of Education bought all of this food...really. The BOE was audited but all of the receipts, etc. were from schools. If you are thinking that JF ate all of that food, you "are" stupid.
I can tell you that the funds are not PTA oriented as they have their own budgets and audits. Must of this money is probably grants that build in incentives such as food to get participation. Over 1/2 of our schools are Title I, which are "required" to have family nights and the Feds allow food to be purchased. Is the only way to get the EBT parents in schools.
Yes, most of this food is purchased which the school CC but payment is taken from the grants.
For those that want receipts, I am sure this is where the auditors got their info. Without proof, why would they state the concern. If you want the info that bad, put in a request and pay for it to be done. Is your money.
5:12. Good God. Thanks for this link. I think the County Executive has a lot of explaining to do. I looked at February alone. The county eats a lot getter than I do. Cracker Barrel, Red Hot and Blue, Pats Puzza and my favorite...Swelly's Bar and Billiards!
Mr. Frederickson is a big tipper so that the kids get quality subs and pizzas. What harm is to have coffee and doughnuts at the Central office for guests, all meetings and snacks for staff. They work hard.

GIFT CARDS TOO Dr. Fredrickson????

I do know Salisbury Middle School had a "Straight-A" lunch for those students a week ago.
well if its for pizza and subs for the kids, I am sure the bookkeeping department has to have all the receipts........so show them!
I thought I saw his nose grow when he was telling that story.
My school always made the pizzas and subs. They were so good that delivery would have been a letdown.
for you who are still stupid and lacking of mental ability, the PTA has their own budget and they pay for their own shit period!!!
This pieces of crap superintendent is lying directly to your face and on the record...
So whos the bad guy here, the guy spending all the kids money away or you people who don't give two craps about it enough to stop it?
At $5 per sandwich, that's over 32,000 sandwiches. Over 5 years, over 6400 per year.
That's a lot of bread.
10:42, Where do you come up with 5 years? This was over TWO years.
Show us the proof...plain and simple and should be easy to resolve or clarify with receipts

Yikes. Who is he trying to kid.
I have never once seen pizzas or subs provided by WCBOE. I have seen it, or similar, from PTA's. He's FOS.
Like Judge Judy says, "LIAR LIAR pants on fire"

Exactly 10:25 and if these receipts aren't available then that signifies a problem as well.

If you looked at the meeting you would have seen that receipts were given to the council.

I never had kids, why are my tax dollars paying for gift cards and junk food? I want to go to the school and get me some free lunch!

I wonder if the business went to a local concern? or a franchised National Corporation?
The Comptroller's office should be compliant with receipts and disbursements paid out --I believe Jessie Reid is the guy to ask
Tax and spend is all they know, could'nt make money if they tried.
