Tribe Suing Beer Companies For Alcohol Problems

LINCOLN, Neb. – An American Indian tribe sued some of the world's largest beer makers Thursday, claiming they knowingly contributed to devastating alcohol-related problems on South Dakota's Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota said it is demanding $500 million in damages for the cost of health care, social services and child rehabilitation caused by chronic alcoholism on the reservation, which encompasses some of the nation's most impoverished counties.

Why don't you say that to the states who sued the tobacco industry, and won?

When are people going to start taking accountability for their own problems? Oh I know, when the courts stop taking this crap into consideration and actually telling people you need to make better choices If you don't sorry for your luck.

It is cheaper for large companies to settle then to fight in court. So they will get the money and buy more beer.

Why should they? Seriously. If they can blame someone else, get money out of it and whatever other benefits they can get, why should they?

I know it sounds shitty but that's human nature. Greed makes people do things they normally wouldn't.

And this country is all about greed.
