The city should keep the old fire house and give it back to the fire department.
I would like to see the fire house become a 50lc3 non-profit. It could be a FRIENDS OF THE FIREHOUSE and could be used for reservations for receptions, meetings and this money be used for up keep of the building. It would still be a firehouse and be part of Salisbury. Look at Friends of Poplar Hill Mansion. It is Friends of Poplar Hill. If the firemen want to keep a fire engine there why not.
Maybe these people should be retired or volunteers.
Its a win win situation.
Agreed. Keep the old firehouse, rent it out or whatever, let it earn its keep but be part of history.
