Mayor Jim Ireton is at it again. Now he wants the power to hire and fire Department Heads, as if this immature wanna be somebody thinks he now knows more than a voted upon, select group of people the taxpayers chose to lead their City called a City Council.
Terry Cohen, (being the wise woman that she is) stated that she will allow the proposal to go on the agenda. However, we all know Ireton is going to get smacked right in the face and probably treated like the immature child that he is.
Seriously Folks, Jim Ireton in control of something, I think not and I'm not playing around with words. This guy is the worst excuse for a Mayor, allbeit, better than the other choice Gary Comegys. However, you have to wonder if even we made the wrong decision. That's a toss up, for sure.
Mayor Ireton needs to stop grandstanding and start doing the work of the City. If he and Laura Mitchell actually spent more time doing BUSINESS instead of being in front of the cameras we might actually see some progress. If Mayor Ireton stopped putting things he wants to cry about in front of the press, again, something might actualy get done in this City.
Instead, its all about defaming "the Camden trio" on behalf of Mike Dunn and Barrie Tilghman for a future election. There must be something REALLY important, (SLICK) coming down the pike. Oh, I don't know, like maybe another WalMart or something to do with another LLC we're not aware of.
Go to work Mayor Ireton. You're being paid to do a job, not practice for a film/drama career.

As a gay man Jim Ireton is what I always thought they were, a big crying baby who constantly throws hissy fits when he doesn't get his way. He is so feminine and he gives all gays a bad name. He just can't handle power given to a mayor so I can only imagine the lack of control in his class room.
I have voted for my last gay person!
Jim Ireton do us all a favor and just quit like you did last time.
Oh, by the way Jim, the redistricting you are working on is not the job of the Mayor, it's the job of the legislative body of the city.

Interesting how your "5 Districts" conveniently carves out a separate district for Laura Mitchell and Muir Boda!! Laura, Boda and Shanie would give you a majority wouldn't it!
I am extremely disappointed in Jimmy's tenure as Mayor--he has failed miserably.
He is nothing more than a Drama Queen starving for more power.
The fact that he walked the streets going door to door with Carolyn Hall to help get his "friend" Terry Cohen elected proves he is a mentally incompetent and unstable individual. Any person that can turn on their friends that quick without due cause and jump in bed with his enemies proves they have issues and should be evaluated immediately.

For once I agree with Shanie Shields. As an employee who suffered retaliation I know this is the wrong message to send to the city employees.
Does Salisbury always have to be the laughing stock of Maryland. Can we do something as voters before the election to get rid of Ireton and Mitchell. I use not be a fan of Terry and Debbie, because I knew what ever the vote was, it would be 3-2. But as time goes on and I read all the junk that some elected officials try, I now see why there was always 3-2 vote. I have much more respect for these two now than I ever did. I once ask Terry in a grocery store why she voted the way I disagreed with. After her takening the time to explain to me, I under stood and could accept her vote. But she took time out and explained it to me. I wish Ireton and Mitchell would stop granstanding and do the job they were elected to do.

You hit that nail on the head!! Some of those mass emails were initiated by Gordy, Hoppes and other SFD personnel who supported Comegys. This was done on city computers and email servers and this is a fact. But what do we know? Hoppes was his choice for fire chief after all he did to Ireton.
