The Worlds Largest Army, American Hunters

I had never thought about this....

A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin . Allow me to restate that number:

Over the last several months Wisconsin's hunters became the eighth largest army in the world.

More men under arms than in Iran.

More than France and Germany combined.

These men deployed to the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin , to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.

That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunt the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan's 700,000 hunters, all of whom have now returned home safely. Toss in the quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world... and then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states... its millions more.

The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting -- it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national security.

That's why all enemies foreign and most of all domestic want to see us disarmed.

Shotguns and single shot rifles are no match for an AK-47.

This is refreshing Joe, b/c the news Media tries to manipulate the information regarding gun ownership, and tries to make people afraid of guns; walk the halls of Salisbury Univesity and look at all the ANTI-GUN slogans.

Our Country has always been great and will remain great; resisting oppression from anyone. I think this may have been the reason their was a secret draft by McCain during Thanksgiving Break, and the passage of the N.D.A.A. by Congress recently.

Don't let Hillary Clinton read this. It'll be fuel for her to argue how Americans have to many guns and need to take them from us for national security

Just think all the kook liberals have done to take our gun rights away and it has'nt worked. Our founding fathers were the smartest men knowing that a nation with guns will be a free nation!

That single shot rifle and that shotgun can take out someone with a better weapon. Then what? Someone has just upgraded their arsenal.

Anything can be used as a weapon. It depends on the individual holding it.

Go back to your video game.

Joe, those are outstanding facts and are consistent with facts I saw recently indicating that during the months of March, April, and May of 2009, more firearms were purchased in the United States than it takes to arm both the Chinese and Indian armies. Also noteworthy is the fact that the Cabela's store in Hamburg, Pa. are having a difficult time keeping popular ammo and related semi-automatic rifles in stock as well as high capacity magazines.

As an aside, keep in mind that in Maryland it is illegal to buy, sell, or transfer magazines with a capacity of more than 20 rounds each. But it is PERFECTLY legal to possess them ;)

I firmly believe that the founding fathers knew the importance of allowing the people to be armed... to be able to protect themselves from foreign threats, but also to be able to protect themselves from their own government. For freedom and liberty to exist, the public must be allowed to be armed to protect their liberty.

This liberty/freedom comes at the expense/cost/responsibility that some numb nuts is gonna do something really stupid with a weapon. No one ever promised that freedom and liberty did not come with a price tag, or responsibility. It's like freedom of speech, it doesn't come with a guarantee of not being offended. To have one, you must accept the other... and accept that the price payed for said liberty is worth it.

That pretty much sums it up I think.
