Health officials the first laboratory confirmed case of influenza in Sussex County has been reported. It is the third case of the flu in the state for the 2011-2012 season.
Officials say the Sussex County case was confirmed Dec. 30. The patient is a 3-year-old boy from Milford.
The Division of Public Health says reports do not suggest that the flu is widely circulating in Delaware.
