WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

Day by day we get closer to war with Iran. The MSM and political class are in full fear mongering mode. The mindless sheep that make up the majority of America believe all the shit being shoveled their way. They actually believe that Iran is a real threat to the U.S. Obama and Congress are attempting to force a war at the behest of Israel. An oil embargo is targeted to make the Iranians do something stupid, so we can say they started it. Where have we seen this story before? WMD anyone? The Iraq debacle resulted in 4,500 American soldiers dying, 32,000 wounded, 200,000 dead Iraqis, an infrastructure left in shambles, 40% unemployment in Iraq, Iran with influence they didn’t have prior to our unprovoked attack, oil prices rising from $25 a barrel in 2003 to over $100 a barrel today, and less oil being imported from Iraq today than we received when Sadaam was in power. And oh yeah – the final cost of the Iraq War will be between $3 trillion and $4 trillion.

Before you support the neo-con invasion of Iran, here are a couple facts to ponder:

Iraq is 169,000 sq miles
Iran is 636,000 sq miles
The population of Iraq is 30 million
The population of Iran is 75 million
Do you think it will be easy and cheap to defeat Iran in a war?

Try thinking for yourself, rather than letting the MSM and experts think for you.

US threatens war in the Persian Gulf
The Obama administration’s bellicose stance towards Iran is setting the stage for a dangerous slide towards war in the Persian Gulf. Having provoked Tehran with legislation for what amounts to an oil embargo, the US is threatening Iran with military action if it retaliates by shutting down the Strait of Hormuz.

The press immediately added fuel to the flames by backing Washington and vilifying the Iranian regime. An editorial in the New York Times on Thursday fully supported the Obama administration’s threat of military action against any Iranian attempt to block the Persian Gulf. The editorial condemned Iran for “its recklessness and its contempt for international law,” declaring, “This is not a government any country should want to see acquire nuclear weapons.”

Other sections of the media went one step further, giving voice to the clamour in ruling circles in the US and Israel for a pre-emptive attack on Iran to destroy its nuclear and military facilities. The Wall Street Journal editorial seized on the tensions over the Strait of Hormuz to warn of the dangers of an Iranian regime “fortified by a nuclear threat,” concluding that it would be “better to act now to stop Iran.”

The cynicism is staggering. Having waged wars of aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq and backed the NATO bombing of Libya, the US is now deliberately and recklessly raising tensions in the Persian Gulf by threatening severe penalties against any foreign company doing business with Iran’s central bank, thereby effectively blocking Iranian oil exports. It is hardly surprising that Tehran has reacted to an act of economic war that would collapse its already fragile economy.

FIFTY years ago an American President told us this would happen if we were not vigilant against it. What was the "it" he was so alarmed about? The military-industrial machine that NEEDED wars and conflicts to build their riches and power. Was he wrong? Please stop falling for every fear-mongering article or staement telling us their is ANOTHER bogeymman ready to pounce on us. Let THEM send THEIR kids to war. Impose a 20% "war tax" on every Senator or Representative that votes for allocations for the latest UNDECLARED war. Draft THEIR children (ALL of them between the ages of 18 and 35) into the Marines immediately. Same for the President. Give them a taste of what they are shoving down the people's throats and I got the feeling that we won't be going to war very much after THAT.
