Boeing Is Taking Over One Of NASA's Old Space Shuttle Hangars
The contractor is building a new capsule that they hope will take astronauts to orbit in four or five years, the Associated Press reports. More than 100 Boeing, NASA and state and federal officials gathered in the massive empty hangar, called Orbiting Processing Facility Number Three, for the announcement. This is a first-of-its-kind agreement allowing a private company to take over the government property. NASA is counting on companies like Boeing to ferry cargo and astronauts to and from the International Space Station in three to five years.

Re-inventing the wheel.Doing what has already been done plain and simple.America put a man in orbit 49 years ago.The USSR did it first one year before us.If this fiasco means hiring lots of people I'm all for it,but it accomplishes nothing unless a space station is used as a catalyst to explore deep space.A manned mars mission would be a start.In 50 years all humankind has accomplished is to put a man on the moon.

fail to mention many of our achievemnents, such as security, medical research, communications to name a few. Our mission goals are well beyond exploration. If you think the only thing NASA has done in 50 years is put a man on the moon your not of this world.
Aforementioned is correct in isolating NASA's achievements to security,medical research,and communications,to name a few.
