With more than a dozen Charging Stations openly available on the Downtown Plaza, many seem to be taking advantage of the FREE power being provided by the City of Salisbury Taxpayers to no taxpayers.
We at SBYNews.com do NOT recommend anyone else take advantage of such opportunities as we believe it is illegal. You know, for people like you and me, taxpayers footing the actual bill.
For some reason I could see such a charge being challenged, since you asnd I are paying for the power anyway. Nevertheless, I strongly suggest NO ONE pull up in a Motor Home and start charging their vehicles, or cell phone, or extension cords running into your businesses and so forth.
Some have suggested lock boxes but I guess we'll have to wait and see what the City chooses to do. If you happen to work or live on the Plaza, (and you happen to be republican) and you have the ability to take pictures of people taking advantage of this free service, please send those pictures to alberobutzo@wmconnect.com.

that was a low blow. I happen to be a centrist, fiscally conservative democrat. I agree with you as a city taxpayer. lock those boxes up!
Why do you have to be a Republican to help out? That is weird.
ROTFLMAO
Wait til they start plugging in electric blankets to sleep on the benches.....
Unbelievable that they can attain free electric at our expense. Its nice to see Salisbury spend our money in such a disturbing way. What a bunch of morons!!
We need to have our crummy Law Enforcement people start doing thier job and arresting these people, they are vagrents and bumms therefore, violating the laws of our state and subject to arrest. Then you ask how is our police doing! They won't do their job at all!
Let's see the pictures, instead of reading the gossip. Just because someome is spreading gossip around, does not mean it is true.
You people really hate the homeless. Why?
Joe, along those same lines...how about the trees on Main St. lit up with white Christmas lights during the day? Can't say they're testing them. It's been going on for months now.
C'mon Joe. It's not like someone's running power tools or an electric stove.
Even airports have outlets we can use to power up cell phones and laptops. They do not draw that much current to be concerned with.
You say it's okay to bring people in the woods food and whatnot but the same type of people can not use the available electric?
People with no homes, much less electric, have limited options. Getting people riled up over something so trivial as this serves no good purpose.
anonymous 5:34, You, (nor several others we purposely rejected) get it.
If YOU owned a business, a property and or lived on the Plaza and YOU were subjected to undesireables begging, pissing and loitering where such lifestyles are conducted, YOU would not appreciate it one bit.
I DO my share to help these people. I DO walk through the Plaza every day and clean up their mess. You HIDE behind anonymous and make remarks trying to challenge who I am, my motives and what I do.
Grow a pair, use your real name and do openly tell everyone here what YOU are doing to help our community. I DO put my money where my mouth is. YOU do NOT.

Damn, little touchy aren't we? I'm not challenging you on anything. Just pointing out the obvious.
The other things you bring up, loitering, pissing etc. may go hand in hand, or not, but they were not included in the original question were they?
Using a name or not using a name has no bearing if anyone has 'a pair'.
It's your blog and you should use your name. Has nothing to do with manhood as you try to suggest.
Now, deflate your ego a mite and come back to earth with the rest of us.
Or not.
