No! This may simplistic, but to raise the debt limit without a concomitant cut in spending would be much like a family who has only so much income but keeps raising its "debt limit" without also cutting its expenses.
No. I would prefer to see a balanced budget amendment tied into the passage of raising the debt ceiling. 1.5 or 4 trillion, neither is anywhere close to enough. We run a 1.6 trillion deficit annually. I don't consider 1.5 or 4 trillion an even serious proposal. We see what's happening in Europe, continuing down the path we're on is wrong. Reform every program/agency(both non- and discretionary). Eliminate redundancy(which the GAO says alone could save 200+ billion annually). Simplify and reform the tax code top to bottom. I'm not saying everything can or will be done today, but start, in earnest. Quit with the fear-politicking on both sides. Quit with the populist posturing. Get the job done, or get the F out.
No. We've kicked the can down the road too long. If I have to lose my job or jeopardize my retirement to insure a secure future for my children and future generations...than so be it. It's time for our generation to show some backbone and fix this mess once and for all.
No!!! You can't just keep printing money & not cut spending. The printing press will eventually run out of ink or paper, but it will run out! Is it Nov. 2012, yet??
No. They can cut spending if they just start making the list. So far, no one has put that pen to the paper, just talk more about it in general to make things sound good until the last minute.
The current administration, in defiance of the constitution has not even proposed a budget. Let's propose a dollar increase for a dollar decrease, with a specific outline where the cuts will be and where the increase will be. This administration would never agree because they refuse to be accountable for either.

Who says the foster parent is trained in nutrious food. Are they "slim" and set a good example.
I would say absolutely NOT.
This would rip the child from family and home. That may be worse than being over weight.
No raise in the debt ceiling without spending cuts and repeal of the BUSH era tax cuts.
straw man question when there are serious spending cuts on the table along with requests for increases in the debt ceiling
Agree... and not with a 1.5 trillion cut, I want more... we need more...
This is still a scare tactic to get us to pay more for nothing so the govt can get bigger or so they can just spend it...
Absolutely not.

Well said, Rick!
No. It's time to do it now before Obama completely kills this country with his fundamental changes.

Absolutely NOT!! And if you look at the responses here, why does the MSM say 49% of Americans don't CARE about the debt ceiling??!?

They should not raise the debt ceiling but should cut spending massively if they really want to make long term gains.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! ...but I bet they do.
They'll probably say there are real cuts, but it'll mostly be "smoke and mirrors."
