Proposed Change: Speed Up Or Move Over

If this passes, then about half the population of the Lower Shore is in for a well-deserved ticket.
And I hope that they get that ticket too. Highway 413 coming up from Crisfield is the WORST! Slow drivers going 50 MPH or slower and has a line of traffic behind them 10-15 cars long because people are either scared to pass or wont because they're a slow one too. Infuriating! Especially when you are trying to get somewhere important. It needs to be a double highway for that reason alone.

Well Let them get ticketed then... It will only help to slow them down or they can keep paying them... It will in tune help the state, country or city with a bit more revenue...
But I like this proposed change because some people should not be driving iv they cant go the speed limit or with the flow of traffic...
@10:41 413 is a single lane highway, this law would not be in effect on that road. This applies to dual lane or greater highways in which slower traffic should keep right. Think Rt 13 or 50.
If the speed limit is 55 and I am going 55 why do I move to the slower lane and let the speeder go by. Do the speed limit and we have NO problem.
It is basic drivers ed. you move from the passing lane once you have cleared the vehicles you have passed. That lane has been known as the passing lane for fifty years at least. I am not pointing the finger but nine out of ten times it is a certain race doing that. Sorry folks the truth hurts.
Anon 11:17 We all were taught in drivers ed that the left lane is for passing. The right lane is for slower traffic. Everybody around here has forgot that. People drive in the fast lane for miles and miles. And if you are slower you should have to move over.

Because 11:17 is one of those drivers that never looks in the rearview mirror to see the 25 cars behind him/her and takes smug satisfaction that, all by themselves, they are making sure no one goes over the speed limit. Also, his/her/IQ is probably about 80. That's why he/she never noticed the part in the driver's handbook that says stay to the right unless passing. Selfish, self-centered, and stupid.
I thought it was already a law. The right lane is the travel lane and left lane is to be used for overtaking a slower vehicle then immediately moving back to right lane when safe to do so.
Weaving used to be against the law,( I thought), but you have to nowadays to get around the slow ones in the left and right lane.
If someone comes up behind you move over and let them pass. When they go by you can always move back over. It's called courtesy.
Being ignorant has lead to road rage and has gotten a few people killed. Is it worth that?
11:17 Anon doesn't sound like he/she took driver's ed. Probably got his/her license from a driving school which doesn't teach the same things we were taught in drivers education classes.
You can usually tell who those people are when you're driving around. It's so aggravating!
There used to be a saying "Where'd you get your license, Sears?". Now, it's "Must have gotten their license by going to a driving school".
People who do this are what I call Oh-blivious! Also, I believe there is a federal law on the books already requiring motorists on an interstate (50 & 13) to stay in the right lane unless they are passing. And, as I recall, they can be ticketed if they stay in the passing lane for more than 1/2 mile if they're not passing. Read this somewhere a few years back. Anybody else heard of this?
