The Montgomery County Council is taking up a proposed curfew for teenagers 18 and younger.
The proposal from County Executive Isiah Leggett is on the agenda for Tuesday morning’s council session.
The bill would impose an 11 p.m. curfew from Sunday through Thursday nights and a 12:01 a.m. curfew on the weekends. Minors would be barred from public places in the county until 5 the next morning, and parents could be held responsible for allowing their children to violate the curfew.
The council is also considering a separate proposal to ban smoking in certain common areas of apartment buildings and within 25 feet of playground.
