Can you imagine what it must be like for the plow operators? It is 100 times worse with the snow coming off the plow. There was a state of emergency in effect on Sunday AND Monday. Noone should have been out riding around. The Sheriffs office was writing tickets. These people were getting stuck in snow drifts and causing big problems for getting the roads cleared, and the safety of themselves and everyone else. If anyone was out Sunday or Monday, I hope it was an EMERGENCY.

thats not a white out! i never knew what a white out was until last year's mess. 3 feet of snow and my wife's work still made her go in. i had to go pick her up because her car was buried. as i was heading out of hebron to get her, the hood of my truck DISAPPEARED! not being able to see your own vehicle while driving (albeit only 5mphs) is not a fun experience.
i was not happy with her bosses for a few weeks after that.
Yesterday there was a snow plow that had run off the road on Purnell Crossing Road. He was very, very fortunate that he didn't turn over. There were plenty of local people that were there to help, but it was a scary sight. Thank God he was okay.
12:40, thank you for being concerned with the welfare of the driver, rather than bashing him for one reason or another.
10:40am- I believe the state of emergency was a limited one, not to mention, Maryland State offices were open yesterday- they opened at 10am and had liberal leave in effect, but they were staffed with employees. People were most definitely out- those that had to work, and those that were shopping, eating out, etc. I was suprised at just how many were out.
1:22 I don't believe in bashing individuals for trying to do their jobs. I particularly won't because he was trying to help us. The roads here are very difficult to travel on with the extremely high drifts of snow. Snow plowing is not as easy as people think it is. Even Route 50 yesterday was difficult in some spots. Like I said, I'm glad he is okay. I know they were doing the very best that they could and have continued to ensure that we are able to get where we need to be safely.
