Tainted alfalfa sprouts tied to the foodborne illness; case count rises to 94
ATLANTA — An outbreak of salmonella that was tied to tainted alfalfa sprouts has grown to at least 94 cases in 16 states.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday said the case count had risen from 89 cases in 15 states in the past week, with California joining the list.
More than half the cases have been in Illinois. There have been no deaths.

It's wonderful to know that our new food "safety" bill will soon put an end to all these problems. I'm sure it will be just as effective and efficient as all the other government safety(wink wink)bills have been in the past, while cutting costs at the same time (of course). Thank God we have government to head off all of these threats to our health and well being lest we'd all get sick and die.
Yes, 9:56, thank God that Salmonella will be outlawed very soon. Once it is arrested and put in jail, I hope they give it the death penalty instead of life, as if it ever gets out on parole, we'll all be in trouble!
The government lies and works for / protects corporations who manufacture food in unsanitary methods. They want to prevent you and me from having home grown foods.
