The Rise Of The Stay-At-Home Husband
For the first time, women make up a majority of America’s workforce. And at home, a few good men are taking up the slack. Is a stay-at-home husband the new status symbol for alpha women?
IMO, this is the downfall of society. women should be at home raising kids. its natural. the 'comforting' touch of a mother is something weve all heard and most of us have experienced. sending them out to work while someone else (not dad) raises the kids has done alot more harm than good. businesses have chimed in knowing families have 2 incomes now, hence the rise in prices since this phenomenon started.
They deserve alot of credit. It is the hardest and most important job in the world. It can be very alienating, especially if you live in the country. It is a give give give job with no ego coating rewards. Kudos to them.
I think it all depends on the situation.. I work FT in Salisbury, my husband is home (farmer) w/ our two sons 4&6 all day every day (m-f) however, he still makes way more income than I do. My income is mearly to "make ends meet". He is definatly the Alfa in the family.

I would say it's more of a symbol of the fall of the American family and family values .
