BETHESDA, Md. - When candidates are vying for votes it can be hard to get them to agree on issues.
But WTOP managed to get all the major candidates in the Maryland governor's race to make the same pledge: Not to distract drivers by waving campaign signs at them.

A lot of candidates are placing their signs in county and state right-of-ways in this area. I think that should be prohibited as well. I know that the state has picked up signs in the past and they should be doing it now. This practice is illegal and it prevents state and county workers from cutting the grass along the roadside.
That's a darn shame. One more inexpensive way for candidates to get their name before the people now being discouraged.
It must be a decision that origninated with liberals, because they have very little confidence in an individuals ability to think and act safely for themselves.
I certalinly enjoy seeing candidates standing out and waving signs, and signal my agreement by blowing my horn as applicable.
I did the same thing for a group of young people yesterday in front of Block Busters, waving signs promoting Jesus Christ and Christianity.
Fortunately, I am a fairly intelligent individual, and can participate in such activity safely.
KEEP WAVING THE SIGNS!
In Somerset county it seems that the Dems are placing their YARD signs along roadways instead of in yards. I suspect that most folks don't want to be associated with the Dems that are running.
Why do we have to keep looking at these ridculous pictures of Julie Brewington? If I wanted to see a nut I'd buy a can of Planters. If she gets more than 100 votes, I will be sorely disappointed in the citzenry of Delmarva.
Ed Taylor puts his signs up anywhere he wants. He will be the oldest council member elected if he gets it. He walks so fast that he looks like he is going backwards. Don't need a 90 year old in charge of these decisions.
Passed seven signs today in a row. Each one was the same "Julie Brewington". Does she have to put so many together when she finds a place to put them?
Anyone out on the road waving a sign is a "goober" in my opinion. I doubt I will vote for them; the only thing I hate more are those taped phone calls from candidates that interrupt you at home. I never see the serious candidates waving signs or dressing like comic book characters.
The sign with the Stop sign on it is illegal according to Marylands Annotated code. It is illegal to place a sign for the purpose of motoring public to see that contains certain words. STOP is one of them.

I agree with dinosaur--the people waving signs are usually losers. I think that most of them just want attention and wouldn't know what to do if they actually were able to get elected.
Please folks. Your lose accusations about people waving signs being losers, must forget about those that promote businesses and fund raising car washes by non-profits and school groups.
Surely there must be more pressing matters facing the general public. Try putting your thinking caps on and come up with some.
