OCEAN CITY OFFERING $5000 REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO ARREST OF SUSPECT


On July 24, 2010 at approximately 2:15 a.m., Ocean City Police responded to 5401 Coastal Highway for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located one male victim, whose name is not being released at this time, lying in the parking lot.

Ocean City Police have recently identified the suspect involved in the stabbing that occurred in on July 24, 2010. Investigators have named Manuel Armando Escalante, Jr., 36, from Federalsburg, Maryland, as the suspect in the resort stabbing. Escalante Jr. is approximately 5’09” and 150 lbs, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The OCPD has been actively searching for Escalante, Jr. since he was identified earlier this week. Police believe Escalante, Jr. is aware he is being sought and is avoiding capture. Police think he is somewhere on DELMARVA and may be staying with friends and/or associates.

The Ocean City Mayor and City Council is hereby offering up to $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of Escalante, Jr.
