Incident: CDS Possession
Date of Incident: 16 April 2010
Location: Jersey Road, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Bronte A. Hilliard, 20, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 16 April 2010 at 12:06 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle driven by Bronte Hilliard on Jersey Road for a registration violation. Based on observations of the deputy, a WCSO K9 team was called to the scene to scan the vehicle for the presence of the odor of illegal drugs. During the scan, the K9 alerted positively to that odor which led the deputy to search both Hilliard and the interior of the vehicle. During the search, the deputy located both marijuana and unlabeled Percocet.

The deputy placed Hilliard under arrest and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Hilliard on Personal Recognizance.

Incident: Violation of a Protective Order
Date of Incident: 17 April 2010
Location: 700 block of Richmond Avenue, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Briece A. Joynes, 28, Westover, MD

Narrative: On 17 April 2010 at 11:13 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 700 block of Richmond Avenue in response to a complaint about Briece Joynes being on the property in violation of a Protective Order. Upon arrival, the deputy met with the resident and Petitioner of the Protective Order that prohibited Joynes from being on her property. The deputy learned that Joynes had just gone to the rear of the house next door prior to his arrival. Upon entering that back yard, the deputy observed an open window which the deputy deduced that Joynes utilized to enter the adjacent residence. The deputy managed to make contact with Joynes and had him exit the house the same way he had entered at which point he was taken into custody.

The deputy transported Joynes to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Joynes on Personal Recognizance.

Incident: Disorderly Conduct
Date of Incident: 17 April 2010
Location: 700 block of Richmond Avenue, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Jessica C. Copes, 26, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 17 April 2010 at 11:13 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 700 block of Richmond Avenue in response to a complaint about Briece Joynes being on the property in violation of a Protective Order. At the conclusion of the investigation the deputy placed Briece Joynes under arrest for this incident. Following Joynes’ arrest, a female subject identified as Jessica C. Copes began yelling belligerently at the deputies on scene. Copes would be identified as the boyfriend of Joynes and was apparently upset over his arrest. Copes refused several requests by the deputies to calm down but she refused which forced the deputies to place her under arrest due to the disturbance she was causing. Copes attempted to evade arrest by moving away from the deputies and tried to place children between them. Copes then struggled with the deputy who attempted to place her into handcuffs while continuing to yell and argue with the deputies.

The deputy transported Copes to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Copes on Personal Recognizance.

Incident: CDS Possession

Suspect: Rameez Asif, 28, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 17 April 2010 at 4:18 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle operated by Rameez Asif for erratic driving on residential streets adjacent to Manoa Blvd. The driving led the deputy to believe that Asif may have been under the influence of either alcohol or some sort of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. During the deputy’s encounter with Asif, the deputy discovered him to be in possession of generic Xanax without a Prescription.

The deputy placed Asif under arrest for the Xanax possession and transported him to the Central Booking unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Asif in the Detention Center in lieu of $7,500.00 bond.

Incident: Burglary
Date of Incident: 17 April 2010
Location: 700 block of Booth Street, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Andre McFadden, 35, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 17 April 2010 at 7:18 PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned citizen about a possible burglary in progress in the 700 block of Booth Street in Salisbury. Responding deputies learned that a subject was attempting to force open a window in the rear of this residence. The caller advised that the perpetrator was last seen fleeing from the property but could be identified by the Spider Man backpack he carried. Responding deputies quickly located the subject on an adjacent street and identified him as Andre McFadden of Salisbury.

Deputies discovered that McFadden had broken a rear window in the residence he attempted to enter but did not manage to get inside. During a search of McFadden the deputies discovered a knife with an 8 ½ inch blade in McFadden’s backpack.

McFadden was placed under arrest and transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained McFadden in the Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.
